| I noticed when reading the forums that there were a lot of comparisons to OMK (obviously), and that lots of people saw this as a diamond in the rough, of sorts. Any opinions of the fact that this beat out almost every series out there, including Death Note, Akira, Rurouni Kenshin, and of course, OMK itself? Just finished it, and I have to say that it was amazing. But just to check with the community, among which only 91 people have favorited MM, does it deserve the #11 spot? |

| Do I think it deserves 11th? No, not really, especially considering some of the mangas it surpassed in the rankings. Am I happy it's 11th? Well, yeah. Like I've said before I really liked this, I rated it as a high 8. Still, for me, OMK surpasses it on almost every aspect. I never thought this would rise this much, it really surprised me. When Boon started scanlating there weren't a lot of people into it. Only around the second half did people start paying more attention to it. Now the thing is - it won't stay this high. Like I already told a friend of mine, the moment casual readers, soft readers, elitists and shounen-only fans start picking this up just because it's high ranked it'll start going down. For now the people who read this are mostly the people who followed it while it was coming out. Usual members of a certain board from a certain imageboard that followed the releases in somewhat amusing threads, fans of YOKO and OMK who feel like supporting the artist and are already used to his sketchy style and particular characters and well, hipsters. We're all still riding the hype of it all. Though the majority of users here don't belong in any of those groups so i don't think the ranking will stay as it is. Maybe it won't go down from the top 50 but I would say that in 1 or 2 years it will no longer be in the the top30. Still it'll probably end up with a great ranking, regardless. And if you're talking about series this is beating I'd like to add a few: Vagabond, Slam Dunk, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (3 manga that find themselves at the top of their genres in quality), Oyasumi Punpun, Mushishi and Beck. Some major classics like Sanctuary, Lone Wolf and Cub, Phoenix, among others. Quite interesting when you see it that way. I'm still happy and rooting for it since I'm a YOKO fan. |
| Yeah, sorry I just threw a few mangas up there that I know people can relate to. You're right: an endless slew of really amazing manga that may never make the top 15, and I'm not sure if this one can stay. But at the very least, this will give it the notoriety to rise above the 1000 and some readers that have seen it thus far. |

| I couldn't say better than kurosaki. Let's give it some time and it will gradually go lower. For myself I gave it a 10 and favorited it but hey , I practically never read mangas so I don't really have so much material to compare. I just wanted to boost it a little because I think he deserves more attention. |

It is easier with shorter pieces (Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is consistently #1 or #2, but it would be hard to pull off the same thing for 30 or more chapters), but considering how many times the manga changed direction, it is quite impressive that it felt like a good length and no part was blatantly out of place. |

| This was really fresh and realistic so I guess I'm pretty glad it's so high in the rankings now. If I had to compare it to OMK though, I'd still say OMK is better. |

You have to remember that this is new so of course its going to be in its highest if its good when the rest are old and staying in their position. |

Ignoring the fact that is is finished you also dont take into mind that when a really beloved series does finish in which it gets as much unanimous praise such as this series, the score almost always jumps up, For example steins;gate which went from the high 8's into the 9's, tiger and bunny which went from a 7.99 to a 8.35, gosick which did almost the same jump(but that was mainly due to the downright unforgettable final episodes) So just cause a series isnt complete yet doesnt mean the score will go down. |

| Only time will deside if it belong on top places(its on #9 with same score as #8 and #7). For me its one of the best manga a read in a while( I wasnt excited for reading every next chapter). I found it totally random when I was downloading Koganeiro(work from YOKO). I gave it a try and read 4 chapters. It was late night so I stoped . Next day I found the original thread form 2ch. and started reading both. I read it practically whole day but couldnt finish it(maybe it because the 2ch thread is very long :D ) On the next day I completed it , I was very pleased it found this manga... I dont know when Yoko did this manga but acording to MU it was in 2004 (I think it was later) and it was translated just recently. It only made me thinking its a shame so many good mangas/doujinshis arent translated |

Thats also while i do think they are deserving of it quality wise I'm not denying that they got into the top 10 in an unfair way, gintama and 20th century boys get in because you need to watch 1/3rd of a show before your score is even counted and if you drop it your score is made even less effective. So most of the people that dislike said series would have dropped it before they made it to where their score can count, and the little hate it would get from those that finish it would be outweighed by those that enjoyed it since they are in higher. Like if we were to look at the top 10 anime on this site. Literally every one of them except stein;gate gets on there through unfair means of the scoring system due to episode counts(FMA and LOTGH) as well as many of the top 10 being sequels. Whether you think they are deserving of that is subjective but you are a fool to ever think a show that has a long length is as high as it is only because of quality is being blinded by fanboyism. So for something such as molester man its actually quite impressive its score is this high seeing how short the series is in comparison to many of the other series on the manga list. MM is one of the few series to get as high as it did without being helped by a flaw in the rating system Also on a unrelated note, the rating system is actually quite effective if you actually take these things into mind and dont judge it solely off the score but take these things itno mind, People are just lazy or lacking knowledge on how the scoring system works when they say its a flawed system |
