A poll they recently gave indicates that they're at least thinking about a second season. Fleur will almost certainly have a role, but Elena is unlikely, given the timeline "correction". And in case you didn't pick up on it, Fleur's third engine was active when Ao went through the pole light, so the quartz-connection likely allowed her to remember Ao; the whole scene goes through the point of showing this to the viewer, so I find this theory to be sufficient.

To clarify, Takuya Igarashi is only listed to have been a storyboard writer for episode 10, and only that episode. AO's story was the work of Aikawa Sho(u). He was the story editor, meaning that he was the one responsible for overseeing all the individual episode scripts and putting them together as a narrative as well as discussing the story with the director and other higher-ups. He was also the script writer for most of the episodes (15 episodes), especially the important plot-driving episodes (cf. ANN).

Like we all saw at the end of season two Ao returns back to 2027 ( his own time ).he is most lily to be forgotten.

Now the 3rd season may focus on him trying to find a place place in the new world and fighting sub coral together with truth
