Finally we're getting some answers. It seems that whenever Maetel opened her coat to make everyone respect her, she was showing the pendant that was her father. I guess that was a symbol everyone recognised. It was a bit cheap plot device, as we often saw Maetel stripped and she never wore the pendant, instead it was in her suitcase.

The queen is not necessarily as selfish as it seems, maybe the reason she wanted brave boys to get mechanical bodies was that the majority of people flocking in for a new body were what we've seen so far, lazy and selfish. So the reason Maetel was sent to get brave people was that the current cyborg population is not good enough. As for why she was sent all the way to Earth to get one particular boy when there were plenty of determined people much closer, I guess we'll never get an answer to that. Or maybe one could think that the long journey itself is important in moulding the character good enough to build a cyborg empire.

Oh man this was an intense episode! They finally reached their final destination and so much questions gets revealed and answered!

Tetsurou made his decision to not want a mechanical body and for Maetel to almost disobey and destroy her mother, that was just amazing!

Now Tetsurou and the 999 are in danger so for that I'm really looking forward to see what will happens next in the final episode!
This sure is going to be great!

Of course cyborgs continue to be portrayed as something no-one wants to be.

But "recruiting" one person at a time and having them come all the way via the 999 doesn't seem very efficient. Tetsuro immediately distrusting Maetel after all she has done for him was in character I guess.

So Maetel was recruting? Didn't see this one coming, but it explains a few things..somewhat.

And yeah, gotta say it again. Took Tetsuro long enough to realize that the cyborg lifestyle ain't that desirable in the long run.

As expected, Maetel has relations with those responsible for the mechanized world. Her suffering is visible. Breaking the trust of someone as good as Tetsurou is like a burden, a curse. What will happen in the last episode? What will occur with Promethium, Maetel, and most of all, with Tetsurou's future?

Maetel almost destroyed that evil planet, but she cannot kill her mother, even though her father wanted her to. Now, she's imprisoned.

Tetsurou and the 999 are falling into the black hole! What will happen?

The final denouement is here... Maetel is the daughter of the Queen and has an evil plan.

Anyway, in general the episode is simple and absurd, especially with the cyborgs drinking and enjoying their eternal life, which is not eternal because they can also die.

Well. This means a lot.
First off, we're going to assume that the Conductor is invisible, and that's his gimmick for, like, no reason, but his eyes are visible when he has his cloak. It was revealed earlier on, and in fact, the first time we saw something was weird about the Conductor's body, it looked like it was invisible. Many misdirections later, that was it. Someone commented on that final reveal episode something along the likes of "I wonder what they're going to do with the Conductor having no shadow and being no darness and whatnot", so I gave the show the benefit of the doubt. Now I know, nothing's going to be explained. I'm completely fine with that, it's just that if you're holding a plot twist for 80 some episodes, and it isn't actually a plot twist, and it isn't explained, it doesn't make me like the story more.

Anyways, on to the episode itself. I'm glad that at least they made Tetsuro start doubting himself a bit a few episodes back, otherwise, him refusing a mechanical body would be out of character. In fact, for once, nothing about Tetsuro was off here.
Now, for Maetel... So... Starting with her mother. 1: Why is Maetel not a cyborg. 2: Why would she destroy the 999 because Tetsuro said no, when it was clearly established 5 minutes earlier that the consequence for Tetsuro saying no is that Maetel needs to go to get another boy (note here that the contradiction stems from the fact that Maetel pretty much has no way of getting to and from places other than with the train that is being destroyed, precisely because it needs to be used) 3: So, a strong heart, like Tetsuro... You mean, one who has a habit of killing cyborgs and not feeling remorse? Seems quite convoluted just to get 1 member of a society, especially if you expect him to kill some of your people (and yeah, he would).
Gonna disregard the father thing. Felt like a "sure, whatever, it works" situation.
Then, for Maetel in the earlier episodes. This pretty much tells us that she had no reason to give the passes to the terrorists, but rather, could have brought a lot of the Tetsuro clones (coming to mind is the Tetsurou clone from the planet of mirrors), since it would actually be good for everyone involved. Also, I see not why her being the daughter of some queen would make her that unkillable, known and ageless. In fact, about that. What about the boy from the last 2 parter? He was not going to the same location, why would Maetel want to bring him there? Only solution I see is, as someone mentionned there, parallel universe, but that's not a theory that the show seems to accept.
I expected something a bit grander for payoff, not just planetary family drama like a lot of the other episodes, except this time it's Maetel's family! (Again, after the pirate queen and Harlock).

Guess I want to say that the cyborgs not working and it being seen as a horrible thing is not something that I actually care to comment on, given what the show has provided to date.
