| The anime? Probably because it's old and based off a game, that is only somewhat more popular than this series. Honestly, I thought the anime was mediocre at best too. I would love to see a remake of this series with modern animation and to include the Origin plot line as well. |

Okay, it's not as good as some other games (see: Final Fantasy/Chrono Trigger/Phantasy Star), but it's definitely better than average. Though this is coming from someone who grew up on them. |

| I love Ancient Book of Ys I and YS II. I would like to call myself the no.1 fan of the YS world, but I unfortunately I can' because I played to only one game, Oath in Felghana, and I didn't grew up on this serie, I just know it for almost 4 years. Anyway, I feel strong bond with this serie and the entire story, I rewatched the serie a few times, don't remember how many. Every time it was such an enormous excitement and a desire to get more of it. I even considered drawing my own fanmade manga. I don't know either why this is so underrated anime. It is so gripping! Those who complain that "the plot is average" and "the characters are shallow", they don't see the incredibility of the whole- when I look back it's like some sort of legend for me, it is classic of fantasy adventure! Really. And those guys who underrate this are influenced by other anime or film or whatever which prevent them from seeing what a treasure this anime hides inside. Hugely valuable! |

| Maybe they need to make a remake or something to attract new people into YS? I liked it a lot. In general YS is underrated, see it on the bright side, less whiners like the FF series. |
