SO THE ONE THING I KNEW ABOUT KUROSAWA WAS THAT HE LOSES CONSCIOUSNESS IN THE END! Therefore way back when he was first hit with the bat my theory was he would learn to live by the end of the story and his life flashing before his eyes wouldn't be pop stars but instead the meaningful memories he's made, such as fighting for Nakane and more importantly saving Akane!! Now let's see if that like chapter 17 prediction was right and let's see if fighting with your all means you can die fulfilled like Kurosawa argued! Very interesting.

Something I'm curious about is that Nakane was seen introspecting during Kurosawa's speeches but then he went against Kurosawa's sentiment and we haven't seen him during the celebration. I feel like he has to have a big role in chapter 90, although I heard a rumor Kurosawa was cancelled at first so if that's true maybe it won't be so satisfying and it'll be on us to think about it.

Kurosawa woke up the homeless as he was woken up himself when he was beaten for the first time. They have been reborn! I almost knew Toku felt as he did as soon as he cried. Well at first I thought it was that they nearly allowed the death of their hero, but then it was that they are at the sunset of their life and only just realizing it. Realizing that they are strong and the way to be strong is to fight against your self-depreciative tendencies, to live, to fight with your life on the line in the way Kurosawa showed them. To not put themselves down and let their hopes and dreams die. :o

I want to take a moment to speak about my understandings of the themes in this compared to Kaiji, a series which echoes the same sentiments of Kurosawa verbatim outside of the empathy lines.
P.S. Akane leaning on Kurosawa and Kurosawa lying on Akane's lap was so cute.
