| I hate those girls, goddamn. It's reasonable to despise Kurosawa after what they witnessed, but still. Unreasonable to hang up on someone who's complaining because they're in a life or death situation. He should have called Kurosawa back. |

| This time really felt like Nakane was bragging but I'll take it that this is just more him being dumb and unaware of the consequences of his actions, like when he swung the bat at Kurosawa's head in their fight. In fact, I think he was able to laugh at the fact that guys are coming to take him down from all over his school because he has so much faith in Kurosawa that he'll come out on top no matter what. Of course, acting like he's famous in Hawaii probably lures him away from rushing to help Kurosawa when he otherwise would. Who knows, maybe if Kurosawa's call for help was heard he would have came back to Japan. Anyways, where the hell did he get Kurosawa's number.. the phone books? I've heard that in one of the Yakuza games the gangs around town send their cronies to fight Kiryu as a hazing ritual, I love that it has basically happened to Kurosawa after the LEGENDS of him being THE STRONGEST MAN have surfaced. I'm starting to understand the name of this series, hahaha. You would think he'd start to wear a hard hat at all times. I think envy is a huge part of Kurosawa's character and it's a part of why he can be so miserable. He always compares his life with other peoples. If he could instead think, "it's awesome that Nakane, a guy who is cool as heck and respects me, is calling me to look out for me", and rather than feeling bad about having a noodle cup instead of boob cups he could appreciate that jumbo noodle bowl he'd be much happier. If only every time something bad happened to him or something good happened to others he didn't instantly compare them bitterly. We can see this with his feelings towards Akamatsu since the beginning, "HE'S YOUNGER THAN ME AND HAS A WIFE AND KIDS?!", as if he was saying 'I HATE HIM AND AM UNHAPPY WITH MY LIFE BECAUSE HE HAS WHAT I DON'T!'. All that said he's 44 and feels like his life hasn't led anywhere, it's not as simple as saying don't be bitter towards those who have everything you could want and may never get at a younger age than you. Side note, it's funny in a coincidental way how Kurosawa is jealous and envious over Nakane and his dad. |
