Hellow there, fellow teachers! As some of you already know, the Admins are having problems with a rule. There are two solutions found, as far as I know. Now, we'd like you to help us out by voting in the poll. We'll go with the majority of the votes, so if the other rule is chosen, please don't be mad at us for picking that one. Also, if you're going to vote, please -ONLY- vote. We already had an enormous discussion behorehand, we don't want another one.

Thank you. :3

The two solutions are:

Rule #1: We'll only count characters in who are in the present time students.
-Example- In Clannad, most characters are students. In the After Movie (released after the series) they
aren't students anymore so we shouldn't let them count after all.
-Example 2- Most characters in Vampire Knight are students at the moment, so we let them count.
If there would be a second season for this series where the characters aren't students anymore, the 'claimers' have
to give up on their students and teach some other character.
If you vote for this rule, it will mean that you'd like to have a rule who's more chronologically based.

Conclusion: There are two reasons why your claim can be removed. 1) If your character is no longer considered a student. And 2) If you want some other character to teach.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rule #2: We'll count all characters in who are/were originally students.
-Example- In some show, most characters are students. But in a sequel they aren't students anymore. However, the
first show is a school-setting one, so we should let them count. Even if the creator of the series wanted them not to be
students anymore, in the original show they were students, so they would be up for grabs.
Addition: for this rule, flashbacks don't count. If a character who is not a student in the beginning/process of the story just has a flashback to his/her school days -- that does not make him/her a student. He/She has to be a student in the actual story.

Conclusion: Your claim cannot be removed, unless you want some other character to teach.

Winning rule: #2

So I put Rule #2.

My reasoning: I have been taught that whenever referring to literature (of any kind) it should be referred to in the present tense because it continues to exist as it is. For instance, although authors from centuries ago are dead, they are still quoted as "so-and-so writes" or "so-and-so states" etcetera. So while a student may graduate later in a series, that student will always BE a student in the previous episodes, because the previous episodes continue to exist. Besides, so long as someone hasn't gotten that far in a series, to them, the student is still a student.
