I've put off watching this for way too long lol first episode is making me feel weirdly nostalgic. Maybe its the art style? Not sure but I think this is going to be a good one

Nothing really "wrong" with it, but it's written for children. I don't see how anyone over the age of 13 could be entertained by this.

There are two types of anime - almost as good as Elfen Lied, and not as good as Elfen Lied.

The first episode of Hunter x Hunter does a solid job of setting up the world and the main character, Gon, as he begins his journey to become a Hunter. Right off the bat, the show introduces us to a world full of adventure, mystery, and danger, with the Hunter Exam serving as the ultimate test for those seeking to explore it. Gon’s determination and optimism are infectious, and he’s joined by some intriguing characters with their own unique motivations.

The animation and music are decent—nothing groundbreaking, but fitting for the tone of the episode. While it might not feel as mature or intense as some other anime, it still has that fun, adventurous vibe that fans of shows like Naruto or My Hero Academia will appreciate.

Overall, Episode 1 is a solid introduction that leaves plenty of room for the story to grow. If you’re looking for a fun, adventure-filled series, this is a great start! I’d give it a 4/5 for a strong opening, and I’m excited to see where it goes next.

Finally getting around to watching the anime all the way through and I can say this first episode was just ok. The character designs are vibrant and unique although it is kinda funny that both of this authors work depict main characters with a main color of green. Regardless while the ideas are interesting enough the characters are sorta all over the place outside of Gon. Killua and Leorio seem interesting enough but they also seem weirdly combative for people who are genuinely nice and caring as shown by them trying to save Kasuo and them getting over their differences rather quickly, despite some very choice words used by one of the parties. It was extremely fast paced and pretty much every side character suffered for it. But still I like them well enough and the animation was clean so it’s still good. One of the Weaker first episodes I have seen but not bad.

best anime ive ever seen, peak character design, peak character development, peak music and story. genuinely cannot get better than this. i love this anime with my ehole heart and soul and ive rewatched it twice because of this. Incredibly immersive story, could not stop myself from watching more. every episode just made me love it more and more and it kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time i watched it. ending was just the tiniest bit upsetting, but i believe that is purely just because i was upset about it ending in general. This is the only 10/10 show ive ever watched.

Getting into this after finishing Hunter x Hunter - 1999 about a week ago.

Banger of an OP honestly.
Mad House is a fantastic choice, you can already see the big changes.
I like the vibrant colours and eye popping visuals compared to the original but I do wonder if that's going to affect some of the more serious scenes.
New VA for Gon is fine, at least it's not Naruto x), I love Kurapika's VA, she's one of my favourites.
Pacing definitely feels a bit faster but I wouldn't say it's a bad thing yet.

Surprised we didn't get the Kite scene, maybe later?
Overall very good impression, I can tell it's going to be fun to re-watch the first 4 arcs with all the changes.

Didn't expect Kurapika to be that unfriendly... but it's understandable. In the end he and Leorio were say sorry.. so all is nice and good. On the other hand, Gon is really adorable.

The OP and ED are super catchy but I really like the ED.
