Interesting topic we have here! I'm not going to count all the crappy yaoi I've watched/read since it's practically treated as its own demographic, and most of it would be more in the jousei category besides. Shinshoku Kiss is probably the worst shoujo manga I've read followed closely by Sensual Phrase. The former is just a very disorganized and thoroughly unambitious series; the latter is a horribly bland spin on a plot that's already overdone and annoying (normal girl meets perfect boy who is kind of a creepy rapist type, romance ensues). Anime would probably be Magic Knight Rayearth II. MKR was already one of my least favorite CLAMP franchises before I saw this but MKRII tv is just horrible. Not very nice animation, a deluge of action scenes, and little attempt to preserve characterization from the manga make me a sad panda. |

I hate any manga where the heroine falls for a "hero" that molests/rapes/abuses her. I mean... How can people find that romantic?? I find myself cringing with this kind of stories. Banter and animosity is one thing, but stories like Teacher's Pet, Haou Airen, Hot Gimmick really send a bad message. |

I didn´t like Akuma na eros: I mean, Satan? that´s sick..... imo, I don´t like smut. the only smut manga I liked is itadakimasu. the ultimate worst is Hime 100%. just try it, you will see ok, now you will all kill me, but I disliked Mars and Kare first love... the art in both was great, but its all. mars wanted be all psychological, but it didn´t work on me. what is so bad about wanted samebody dead, anyway... the most stupid and annoying female shoujo character was in mucha kucha daisuki... but I really liked the ending... hehehe... those, who read it understand me. and I liked hana yori dango, but when I read yours comments, I think the story was really not going anywhere. but I liked reading it. I droped good morning call today. my first droped manga... isn´t interesting when I know how will end it. about hot gimmick: wasn´t so bad, but I disliked this situation: you have a brother, you like your brother like a brother, and when you find out he isn´t your brother, you start to like him like a man.... bullshit |

Mizutama Fabric This was just such a poorly executed, cliche work that mediocre would be a compliment. It earned a 2 rating and my "crap" tag, reserved for those special works. |

I haven't actually read many shoujo mangas that I have disliked except from Mouryou Kiden that is.Story-wise it was a inconsisten, confusing and an utterly dissapointing mess that only got a little understandable once in a while, or so you thought until you read the next page and everything was scattered. The funny thing is that the writer herself called it "clumsy" and that's exactly what it is, extremely clumsy. The art was for the most time quite nice but it was more often than not worthless in the aspect of telling you what happened and who was talking. It wasn't all bad though and had it's moments but I'm sure that Tamayo Akiyama sorely regrets leaving Clamp to work on things like this. Mouryou Kiden has proven to me that she doesn't work good by herself. |

The worst thing I've ever seen was Gokujou!! Mecha Mote Iinchou. Watching shoujo anime about a girl who is perfect in all ways is kind of...uhhhh. Scary. |

Finished S+M some days ago and it beat Mouryou Kiden in every aspect when it comes to being bad, I can't believe anyone would find this entertaining. The story: A girl with huge breasts gets tutored by a guy to get into a certain highschool, she falls in love with this guy and still likes him after he attempts to violate her. She later finds out that this guy acutally have a twin who exchanged places with him after he tried to violate her. After this she falls in love with them both, gets gangraped by the twins and they (separately) try to force themselves on her at several occations, it's ok though since she love them. It all ends with her ending up with the one she loved (or was it? the ending don't make sense but she gets laid alright). Yeah, I spoiled the ending but trust me, you don't want to read this crappy excuse for a manga. It's insulting how shallow the characters are and I can't help to feel offended by this manga. The author also seems to have no idea on what difference between love and lust is which lead to the creation of this abomination in the first place... |

I quess it would be Fushigi Yuugi anime ^^; It was great at the start and I loved this anime then but later it got so bad and the main heroine - Miaka was geting so annoying >_> also at the start the relationship between Miaka and Tamahome was also great, I enjoyed it a lot but later it also got really annoying, not that I hate the pairing or something but they got a bit boring o_o; ehh~~I think that's the only shoujo title that annoy me X_x |

As for worst anime at first I couldn't think of anything, and then I started reading the comments which reminded me of a couple I thought were pretty awful. Tokyo Mew Mew being my first choice, at first I found it to be kind of cute and all but after a while the magical girl theme got kind of lame, and Ichigo's annoying obsession with Aoyama (Or what ever his name was.) got on my nerves till I just ended up dropping it. Needless to say I watched it longer than I should have. The next would be Lovely Complex I managed to watch two episodes before dropping this. The main girl was annoying, and loud and I just didn't like her, the main guy well he wasn't too bad but he had his moments when he was with the main girl where he could be just as loud, and just as annoying. I just don't see the craze that some people see about it, but I guess its just a matter of tastes. As for the worst manga, I had a rough time with this one because its not often that I find a manga I dislike. I went with Missile Happy however the art wasn't all that good, not to mention the romance was rushed they were already together by the first volume. I find when the romance is rushed in manga, especially in a manga that has at least 5 + volumes its not as interesting and rather boring at that. These are just my own opinions, I don't want to offend anyone btw. |
What you saw at the castle on that windy night ,and what you saw at the bridge last night .. how I smiled, never utter a word to anyone. If you dare speak .. I will find where you are .. And I will kill you. Kill you. I will rip you apart .. crush your bones And eat your flesh.. I will drink your blood. I will .. devour you. |

In my opinion some aren't mangas, and they all depend on the different tastes, sometimes the art might bother you or the story line, but I think from all of the ones mentioned Hot Gimmick seems to be the only BAD one. The others just seem to have minor annoying details. |

Vampire Knight. No exceptions. Shugo Chara too. Bad shoujo manga?....hmmm....I'd go with Millenium Snow since it didn't end and the art wasn't too good (at least for Bisco Hatori's standards). Also B.O.D.Y. is pretty bad. It was good in the beginning but then they started going off in all these pointless side stories...it would've been better if the manga artist would have just made it like 3 or 4 volumes. Bloody Kiss is also annoying. Just jumping on the vamp bandwagon like VK up there and its really generic, characterwise too. |

VK doesn't rank that high.....but I feel bad giving mangas bad bad scores unless I truly feel they deserve them, Well, nothing wrong with that. Bloody Kiss I agree, was too cliche with the whole falling in love thing also quickly. |

I've been fortunate enough to have only read one that I disliked enough to mention, and that manga would be MeruPuri. I don't know if that's by its own merits, or the fact that the only translation I could find was just bad enough to completely ruin it. Has anyone here read MeruPuri online? If so, were you able to find decently translated scans? 'Coz I'd seriously appreciate the help(I kind of doubt that it's just the translation, though). |

I'm in the "Hot Gimmick is Ew" camp - as with other people here, I got sucked in by the art, but the story, and the main characters were SO BAD. Hatsumi is a doormat, and Ryoki thinks rape=love which to me sends the WORST message possible. Another manga that I didn't really like is Fushigi Yuugi. Miaka annoyed me to death. Even Nuriko (one of my fave characters) couldn't keep me from dropping it... @walnut_tree: I read merupuri online, and I thought it was an okay manga. I read it at onemanga.com |

Worst shoujo manga...? For me it would be Tokyo Mew Mew and Absolute Boyfriend. Tokyo Mew Mew just annoyed the heck out of me and the main character in Absolute Boyfriend drove me crazy!!! Lol I was also sucked into Hot Gimmick by the shiny covers! And then I realized how the story went... Honestly I think the pretty covers are the only reason why people read Hot Gimmick in the first place. :P |

I just skipped episodes that seemed like fillers and aimed for the central action. Felt good. ^.^] One of the worst out there, having one heroine that makes me even ashamed to be a girl, would have to be.. Honey Hunt. It first seemed good to me. I mean, it had AMAZING artwork, great idea going on.. then comes the love. Seems like it was so shoujo that the girl did not matter as long as she kept her relationship with a jerk that does not care about her growing future. Ugh. So in conclusion.. Honey Hunt--> Made. Me. Sick. |

I can't stand any manga in which the heroine falls in love with the guy that abused her or, even worse, raped her. Some examples are Hot Gimmick, Teacher's Pet, Haou Airen, etc, etc. I hope there aren't girls out there that find it's awww and romantic and think that the bastard that did those things to you is actually a softie inside that's just being overly prossesive. |

Definatley Tokyo Mew Mew and la mode.ESPECIALLY A LA MODE. Tokyo Mew Mew was alright in the beginning, but it became extremely stupid as the story went on. I have no idea how I finished it. A la Mode is the worst shojo manga out there. I wanted to slap the author after completing the two worthless volumes. The only good thing in a la Mode was the villains. They actually had interesting powers, and the story could've taken a darker, more serious tone than the original. But no. The author introduced an annoying Mary-Sue and a boring, rushed plot, and called it a day.The romance between Berry and her Gary-Stu crush was crap too. Even more so than the original. Then there is Fruits Basket. I used to love it in the beginning. But then it gradually became boring and irritating, and I was hoping that the author would remove the three main characters. The only characters I actuallyy enjoyed were side characters (Shigure, Momiji, Saki, Ayame, Ritsu, Hatsuharu, and Saki's little brother.) While I'm on a role, I mention Vampire Knight. I only picked it up, because a girl I met at summer camp said it was good. Cue me wishing I never read the first 9 volumes. They are so boring ,and confusing ,and while the story is moving along, it still feels like it's moving at a slow pace. The characters are generic and boring to me. I can see why someone would hate Shugo Chara. To me it started off goos, but ended with an anti-climax. I'm officially apart of the anti Shinjou Mayu crowd. Her art annoys me, and I don't know how anyone could find it romantic. As for shoujo anime, I'm not fond of Skip Beat. My brother coerced me into watching it and said it was funny, but I just could not find the funny and the art annoyed me. |

Wanted and MeruPuri: Märchen Prince--- Both by Matsuri Hino seem to be pretty bad compared to Vampire Knight {VK is one of my favorites so I was really disappointed}-- But I haven't dropped them yet. I don't think I've dropped any manga yet, though I may drop MeruPuri: Märchen Prince if it doesn't get better >_> I finished Wanted, but that was only because it was so short. By the middle of the second chapter I wanted to drop it, but forced myself to finish it since it was so short. |

The worst I ever read is Aishite Kudasai, Sensei. This story got me hook on its concept but it is way to short making the characters unlikable and the story to be as bad as ever. I could of seen this having a very long manga series and that would be awesome to see those two go threw the stages of love. |
