The cat was so cute. I don't like some of Zakuro's traits but she all the sudden became very patient and put up with a lot this episode, kind of cool.

The anime's battle scenes can get violent and gory at times and may get more gory at the end.

The Agemakis sure are interesting, especially at that last scene, since as far as I got it, only spirits can see that cat, but Kei's Sister was stroking her, so there's something behind that.

Or I didn't get it.

some of you guys still wondering about why Agemaki imoutou can see Itsue...
was it really hard to come out with conclusion that Agemaki father is possibly married to youkai or half-youkai?

remember the spider lady in ep5? and how the whole people in the ballroom didnt even know she is youkai? a disgusting one per say...
his father is possibly a thick headed guy...didnt even knew he married to youkai/half youkai...
which is why his mother and sister kept it as a secret even toward Agemaki himself..

as for why Agemaki cannot see while his little sister can....maybe it the heredity issue...
like how normal people married to "little people" have 50-50 chances to give birth to normal and "little people"?

The same thing can be applied here, not that they are born from different mother (like someone point out)
Agemaki is probably born as full human while his sister slightly lean toward youkai, not as one but possessed some trait from her mother...

of course it's just my speculation...but in a way, it's very obvious

I have to wonder why she'd marry somebody so racist against younin then...that's the only reason I thought she wouldn't be one herself.

I don't really think that case. It's probably just a simple fact like some people are more sensitive to that staff.
Or maybe her grandmother was half-youkai or something like that. So basically Agemaki's mother is still full human but has some youkai blood that makes her see things or something like that and the little girl inherited the gift.

LOL, instead of using something we have seen from the show to back up your statement, you use logic in real life to do it?

So far, have you ever seen a half-youkai male one?

You don't have to go so far as the grandmother is the spirit.

You can easily see when his mother smiles at Zakuro when they go => She is the Youkai but not her mother.

Personally I don't think Agemaki's mother and sister are younin at all either, I just meant that if they were you'd think the mother would have an issue with the father being so terrible about younin. They are most likely just sensitive to that sort of thing.

definitely no,
not that i didn't notice the trend of female youkai only, but i didn't take such conclusion based on 7eps of the anime only...just because there is no half youkai male show up in the anime, it does not imply any sort of conclusion...

anyone would have known that, anime is inferior incomparison with manga/novel/game
consider the manga already run at its 5th volume...and consider the setting of human and spirit coexist, its much easier to conclude (for me that is...) that half youkai male is possible but probably it has not been reveal yet in the story...

how does half-youkai male have to do with the question in hand anyway? what are you trying to imply?
no offense but it sound to me you bring out that obvious point just for the sake of showing how stupid I am to use real life logic on Anime...

like i said, it's just my speculation...
The show did little justice in telling you the story behind Agemaki family...
but consider how straight forward the anime is...it's easy to draw some conclusion based on few hint/remark in ep.7

why can agemaki's mother and sister see the cat? they can't be not human right? lol. it'd be more interesting if they had some kind of connection to zakuro's mother (who according to her is a full human also).. :) looking forward to next episodes!

Great character development episode! You really get the feeling that Zakuro is growing in her appreciation for her "cherished partner" (and he can still get her flustered, even when he isn't intentionally "turning on the charm"!) Kei's mom seems see the writing on the wall! And there must be something special about those Agemaki women! Zakuro's interest is certainly peaked!

The show needs to have an action episode next! Two character/plot builders in a row is a little dangerous in the middle of the season.

I find it interesting that a lot of people seemed to think that this show would not fair well in terms of competing with the other shows out there, but if you look at the Japanese TV Rankings you will find that Zakuro is holding its own in Japan. Most weeks it has been the 3rd or 4th highest ranked new "late night" show. for instance, this past week the top new late-nighter was:
*3.1%(*2.2%) 11/04 (Thu) 12:45am-1:45am Fuji TV Kuragehime/Shiki
That almost doesn't count because it is in a block with a continuing show...

The next new late-nighters on the list are:
*1.5%(*0.9%) 11/01 (Mon) 2:00am-2:30am TV Tokyo Shinryaku! Ika Musume

*1.4%(*2.1%) 11/06 (Sat) 11:55pm-12:20am TV Tokyo Tegami Bachi Reverse

Tegami Bachi is a sequel, and Ika Musume is the show that follows Zakuro on the air.

Zakuro comes in next among its peers:
*1.3%(*1.1%) 11/01 (Mon) 1:30am-2:00am TV Tokyo Otome Yōkai Zakuro

What is interesting is the shows it is beating:
*0.9%(*1.8%) 11/04 (Thu) 2:35am-3:05am TBS Amagami SS
*0.9%(*1.4%) 11/05 (Fri) 1:23am-1:53am TV Tokyo Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku
*0.8%(*1.6%) 11/04 (Thu) 3:05am-3:35am TBS Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru
*0.7%(*0.9%) 11/03 (Wed) 3:20am-3:50am TV Tokyo The World God Only Knows
*0.5%(*1.3%) 11/07 (Sun) 1:35am-2:05am TV Tokyo Arakawa under the Bridge × Bridge
*0.5%(*0.8%) 11/07 (Sun) 2:05am-2:35am TV Tokyo Keroro Gunsou Otsu
*0.4%(*0.7%) 11/04 (Thu) 2:15am-2:45am TV Tokyo The Legend of the Legendary Heroes

And shows like Bakuman are not even on the list! (Though the first two weeks, Bakuman was pulling about a 3.0%, then it dropped off the list. That suggests bad things for that show unless it does well in DVD/BluRay sales.)

Of course, DVD/BluRay is probably where you will really see which shows are popular among the late night offerings. They are on the air when most sensible people are sleeping, after all!

Enough of my rant about the quirks of TV ratings and predictions of success. All I know is that I love this show almost as much as Ah My Goddess, my favorite all time! (Can't wait for the new OAD next year!!!!)

[Oh yeah! That cat demon was just the cutest little thing!!! I want one!!! I wish my old cat had turned into a demon! :(]

I have to say, after watching the [Mango] release, I can see why people love fansubs over Crunchysubs. Too bad they are a week behind, but their releases have been outright outstanding so far. Definitely worth archiving and a must download for re-watch value.

Amazing episode. I honestly have to say, the build up in this anime is on par with some of the best anime i've seen. Not the best but its getting there. (^.^) Such great plot and detail, too! A lot of people seemed to pay attention to the daughter of the family being one of those ''exceptions''. The mother seemed to be special in her own way as well. They both possess some kind of relation to spirits! Which makes the story that much more interesting. Definitely looking forward to the next!

Is it just me or did Zakuro stand out a bit more this episode. I try to avoid
commenting on animation quality unless it really bothers me, but that doesn't
mean I should applaud something that stands out. Zakuro looked especially
beautiful this episode. I wanted to take a screenshot of every face she made,
except for that really scary one she made. This was far from an action oriented
episode. Hell there wasn't even any danger involved. The show focused on the
relationship between Agemaki and Zakuro, and real progress was made. I didn't
think before this episode at all that Zakuro would've gone to such lengths
before to help Agemaki. Even if that help came in the form of payment.

It is overwhelming sometimes. So much romantic goodness packed into those episodes, and cuteness ensues again. They play with me shamelessly, I can't think straight... The cat is adorable, but I would certainly be freaked out to see it as a child at night, too. I have to give it to Agemaki, he can adapt fast. Probably is not a coward even, just lacks self-confidence and experience - no surprise with such clueless father. At least his mother is good.
Man, scary Zakuro is scary. Loved her angered demon face with fangs and vertical eyes o_o

Agemaki's sister can see and interact with Itsue :o

Loved that scene where the twins, Ganryu and Susukihotaru were listening in on Agemaki and co. then Zakuro opens the door with an evil aura surrounding her XD

Zakuro's reaction was hilarious when Agemaki asked her to come with him haha.

Who would have thought that Agemaki would have such a cute little sister who isn't afraid of spirits.
And it seems his mother knew from the start that Zakuro was a half spirit, and she also seems to be fine with them.
Issue looked very cute in her Nekomata form.

I also liked it when Zakuro was jealous of Tae.

Yeah! Me too! I was actually hoping a female character that liked him would pop up for that very reason of getting her jealous, since she puts poor Kei through a lot of crap and ignores him in favor of Hanadate (or whatever the other leutinent's name was) I can't wait to see her reaction to {SPOILER ALERT, DON'T READ FURTHER, UNLESS YOU HAVE WATCHED THE WHOLE ANIME!!!} the fact that "Hanadate" is her brother! LMAO!!!!! I accidentally spoiled that fact for myself when I was reading about him and was pretty satisfied with that fact given that I don't like how she favors him over Kei.

Am i missing something here?
Why can his sister see the cat in it's normal form but Agemaki can't? The mother probably knows Zakuro is a youjin.

Overall more fluffy cuteness
