THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- So randomly subbed by shinsen for reasons unknown but lets go with it. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it was fast paced with something dying nearly every minute. Not much real dialog but thats normal for shows from the nineties. I feel biased picking this up for just it sharing names with a favorite game of mine but I got over it. Things felt though a bit random at points without much real explanation going on, just given information and they seem for you to roll with it which might show differences on anime today explaining tons more shit and cutting action but good to touch old roots. Disappointed at the end though, the final fight felt too short, the girl really wasn't much of a character just probably added to make it connect, and mysterious animals popping out from nowhere just to become things to kill. All and all I enjoyed it. |

NES Ninja Gaiden 2 had a better plot, not to mention that it was actually able to entertain for half an hour. Looking at the recent "success" of Devil May Cry TV show, I can be totally sure people who make anime out of action games don't ever learn anything. |

I enjoyed myself to a point but I was not a fan of the Shinsen-subs release. I'm happy that they did a sub of it and I was able to watch it but I was not happy with the overly watched VHS rip. Granted I'm sure they never have or will release this on DVD (or laserdisc! lol to keep with the 90's) so its probably the best we can get... but I just wish there was a better version. Also, as I said in my review, everything just seemed way too rushed. I wasn't really a fan of how conveniently the little girl was brought there and let go and the other things that just should've made it longer. Also, how come nobody paid attention to her when she grabbed what I can only assume was the "evil god's" horn? Oh well though, it was something to kill 45 minutes... |

It was really nice but wish it was a little closer to the NES games at least. moozooh said: NES Ninja Gaiden 2 had a better plot, not to mention that it was actually able to entertain for half an hour. Agreed but first one was the best and hardest. |

I enjoyed this OVA, but I must say I am a bit biased as I was and still am a huge huge fan of the original 3 NES games. So when I saw that this OVA was floating around, I quickly grabbed it and was happy to reimmerse myself in the world of Ryu Habusa once again if only for a short time. That said, I can see why this wasn't and probably never will be a popular OVA. Pretty much was a service to fans of the early games anyhow. But it would be nice if the made a new OVA or better yet, series based off the new games. here's to hopin'.... |

Damn this really sucked. I wanted to watch Ninja Gaiden not 3 side characters be wannabe detectives for half of the OVA. |

I really enjoyed this Ninja Gaiden OVA!! It has some ninja action and violence which makes it so satisfying! I know that the plot evolving around Robert, Jeff, and Sara can be boring to some people, but they would never feel amazed at how those actions scenes really pull off! Well I kinda know one thing I criticize is that Irene Lew is a CIA and yet she felt so hesitant about using her gun on those enemies that Ryu had to face in his Curio Shop. And towards the end she gets kidnapped by Ned Friedman’s goons, making her a damsel in distress once again. But overall I think the final action scene is like the highlight of this obscure anime. Even the music is somewhat rather catchy, like that part where Robert and Jeff barge their way into Ned Friedman’s building giving it like an 80s drumming beat with synthetic music. I bet this OVA had some late 80s music that still has me hoping to search for a Soundtrack. I definitely hope that this Ninja Gaiden OVA should deserve a DVD and Blu-Ray release with 4K quality! |

A new type of stormtrooper that can take out a Rebel base that quickly? I should have kept working for the Empire. |

Ninja Gaiden fan service x Scooby Doo, I wont complain. ryu owning a store was hilarious to me. far and away the best parts of this OVA were ryu's outfit and the enemy design. Robert's car chase scene was dope too |

I liked this, the fight scenes were great and the car chase scene was really awesome, also I like the villain's true form's design, also the OVA had many amazing frames, I never played the Ninja Gaiden games, but it's obvious they didn't adapt to the game well, nonetheless it was really enjoyable and a cool 90s OVA, I'll give it an 8, glad that Jeff made it till the end. |
