| Normally, I would say Ayumu for the simple reason that I didn't watch Death Note, and didn't get very far in the manga due to the sheer amount they speak (I read the chinese version, and my chinese sucks, so pardon me for not getting very far). BUT I would still say Ayumu because Light is older than Ayumu (I think) and hence has an unfair advantage. And while Light is shown from the start to be intelligent and outstanding, Ayumu has to climb all the way to the top on his own. So I say Ayumu is smarter! EDIT: Read Death Note at long last. Still think Ayumu is smarter because Light took on too many things and that caused his downfall, which shows lack of common sense. |

He just doesn't have self confidence in himself and afraid about him doing mistake on his reasoning, while Light is full of confidence yet at the end got caught by the one who was tricked by Light. |
