The cruelty of the battlefield was painful to see. Life just never seems easy in this anime at any time.

Only that underground bunker seemed like a safe place and even then, it's not really safe haven. And all those soldiers injured yikes. A very war-like vibe episode.

War.. war never changes. I feel heartbroken for the sisters. Didn’t have our main cast today, but no less sad. Didn’t think they’d wipe everyone out like this.

They really have butchered this episode to some extent. It wasn't bad by itself, it was still sad and tragic, but compared to how impactful was its depiction in VN... it really pales in comparison. I had my doubts how they gonna adapt it and as suspected, it wasn't possible to adapt it as accurately as I'd love to.

What I dislike the most about it that game had entirely different structure, and they were constantly showcasing this war from both sides (main cast on one side and Patrick with nuns on another), switching back and forth betwen their POVs, enhancing a lot of scenes. They changed the scene in tunnel, rushed some death events... at least they have showcased Tohka and Megumi during sniping scene, but we didn't get any of their commentary from them regarding this scene which was one of "flavors" that make those scenes even more tragic. And then they removed some of the most horrible deaths entirely...

Thats a pity but so be it...

@dezhavhu it is incredibly important to see how "grunts" and civilians on both sides are basically just trying to survive. All for the profit of the warlords and bullet makers. :(

Oh, and why the Hell are they fighting using WWI tactics for God's Sake!?! Other wise known as trench warfare & suicide charges. Complete idiocy then & more so NOW.
