Most anime on MAL that don't have a rabid fanbase creating sockpuppet accounts to artificially maintain or inflate the weighted score will face a downwards trend in rating over the years. If the series also pertains to themes that are especially contentious with casual watchers—themselves a reflection of the general populace in how social conditioning affects their response to media—without affirming their existing negative perception of these subjects (typically through framing the protagonists as vindictive or pathetic), then you can predict an additional handicap of around 1.00-1.50 for the presence of such controversial aspects alone, with variation depending on the narrative significance of the "issue". Bear in mind, this is also an English-speaking anime networking/cataloguing site. As such, you'd have to be somewhat naive to expect anime featuring subjects most westerners find distasteful (e.g. incest, loli) to not come under heavy reprimand for, at least as many see see it, contradicting their entire psychology by presenting certain scenarios in ways that may not align with what their existing preconceptions. Not worth concerning yourself over though. Some digits on a website shouldn't be leaving this much of an impression on you. If you assess a series and come to the conclusion that it is great, then you should remain stalwart in that view, even if every person on the planet happened to revile you for it. |

I've heard about Yosuga no Sora for a long time but I just watched it a few months ago. I love it, I listen to its soundtrack every night. waiting for Steam release XD. |
