YES this is an Isekai, but why is the rating already so low with a 7.2?

I'm assuming that in its first episode it has garnered a 7.2 rating because people assume a wrong premise. They come looking for a drama series revolving around the difficulties of being a mangaka under pressure, but it's actually an ISEKAI. I'm sorry but if that is the case, then this rating is not deserved at all. This was really a good first episode. People are just prejudiced against isekai understandably so. But in my humble opinion, this series deserves a watch. I might change my mind though.

Because the marketing made it seem like it was something more than isekai #12472. And there isn't a lot on offer this season aimed at an audience over 12 years old. So probably a lot of people checked it out thinking it'd be a mappa original about an animator working in an animation studio (kinda ballsy... :p ) but then it's just another bland isekai

People who drop the series early because its premise is different from what they thought won’t even end up being counted in the score once it’s all said and done. MAL has an episode percentage watched requirement. So what really matters is the direction it takes with the premise it has. Give it a handful more episodes, and then wait again until it’s finished. Then we’ll know what most people generally think.

@Safuan12616 If by everyone you mean people who didn't watch the PV that would be correct. If you watch the PV and don't come up with the conclusion that it's an isekai, that's a comprehension issue.

its the first ep bro, relax a bit, ive seen shows like bokuyaba that had a 6ish rating at the very start, now its around a 8/10 rating, ratings fluctuate...

If the show is good the scores will get higher...

it was around at 6.8 when it aired, so 7.2 is actually a good recovery, also a lot of people didn't really watched the PV and thought this would be like shirobako ish anime but got welcomed with Isekai instead lmao, also it's the first ep.. wait halfway season and it may get good rating if it deserve (since it's anime original so can't say anything yet)

I guess people were expecting a Shirobako ripoff, not another generic isekai and felt bamboozled.
Especially since MAPPA is kinda famous for having only one isekai anime and restraining from doing those.

Many give a score after watching just one episode, then drop the show and never come back. The scoring system on MAL is inherently broken.
