| Phew, I just caught up with the latest chapter, reading almost 2 years of chapters in one go (had stopped at chapter 83 which was released early 2023). Well. I have to say chapter 112 still got me sad. Sword Elf ? I don't know if she's called that way in the wiki or among the community but I'll go with this surname. And that chapter gave her an honorable tribute from GS himself. To be fair I respect the fact he did so, because he could have simply left her in the cave but decided at first to keep up fighting goblins to protect her body (one could say he just followed his primary missions of slaying them all). Then spent gold to buy a boat and give her a proper farewell. Very private, just him alone, carrying a task he placed on himself. Many would have simply moved out, some would have even taken her belongings (including magic sword). Heavy respect to GS here for paying Sword Elf a tribute. Saddest part for me being that we most likely won't see her in GS main story. I hoped they'd meet again, but well, adventuring it is. Perhaps we'll have some tiny reminders of this adventure in the current story, but that'd be it. Goblin Slayer universe isn't a peaceful & joyful one after all ! |

| @Deknijff I actually believe he felt emotions there, but this is only speculations since we can't see his face. The moment in the Warlock's lab, where he sat down and watched him crawl, before setting him into fire. Normally, GS' rationality would make him slay the opponent ASAP - no matter who they are or what state they're in - to prevent any sort of risk (kinda like what he did to the baby goblins in the main story). But this time he waited, almost as if he wanted to extend the suffering of someone who killed his party member (I think it's too big to say "his master", despite her calling him "a discipline). Same for the using fire, it's much more complex than simply using a one-hand weapon. So yeah, I want to believe that was his way of dealing with anger, after losing someone he adventured with. As for GS not taking the reward, I'd consider it his own way of paying respect to a deceased companion. It was actually - if I remember correctly - the first time he lost a party member ? |

I think its the first time a party member has died with him yeah, there was that girl who died from those earth worms with the guy who was close to Goblin Slayer but I can't remember if they partied together once or not |

| If I remember correctly, they partied together with a warrior dwarf, a monk, an archer elf and that dude who's still in the main story. Nonetheless it was for a single & short quest where they hunted wanderer goblins. Their collaboration ended rather quickly since GS decided to study the goblins by cutting them open lol So yeah when she died to the earth worm, GS was already out of the party |
