| Sadly it seems that this series isn't really known well in North America. Although I've heard it's apparently fairly popular in Japan, that was heard second hand so I don't really know for sure. Either way there isn't an English translation of this novel and MAL is mostly used by people in North America so unless you're lucky I don't think anyone can give a real answer to your question. Real shame as I would like to read the novel but my Japanese skills are the equivalent of "I've seen some anime" and I can't read kanji or buy the novel unless I travel to Japan anyways. Honestly If I had to guess though I would think that Koume still has more to do in the show. It wasn't very obvious but there were certainly minor hints in the last few episodes of the anime that she would have a role later. She ended up living with Yukiya's family albeit for a short time too. Besides this show hasn't really cut out any characters it's focused on with the only exceptions being maybe Shiratama, Asebi and Fujiyami since we didn't see them again after the first arc ended. It's possible they'll appear again later in the novel but again who really knows because no one outside of Japan can even get the novel and most outside of Japan can't read it either. |
