I am confused with Mordred (Red Saber) female in this series calling King Arthur - who is also a female. She called her "Father" and she is her "son"? WTF is that? I am so confused. Can someone explain to me ?

A friend told me that in the lore Saber was turned into a futanari so that she could impregnate a woman, the child of which would be Mordred. I swear I'm not joking. Can't say for sure my friend wasn't though.

Average fate shenanigans. Basically, Merlin used his magecraft to give King Artoria (Saber) a "wiener" and Morgan le Fay (her older half-sister ๐Ÿ’€) inserted Arthur's "milk" into her ovary to become pregnant. And that's how Mordred was born ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ™

Long story short: Saber was briefly "adjusted" using alchemy so she could conceive a child.

Well, Artoria herself pretends to be a man (Arthur) to lead her kingdom, but she is actually a woman.
Mordred is a homunculus created by Morgan le Fay, Artoria's half sister and nemesis, using both her own and Artoria's essence.

There are various theories about how the 'essence' comes into play, but that's the gist of it.

As for why Mordred calls herself a 'son', she just has a gender identity crisis. You could interpret it as her being a clone of Artoria, and trying to copy how she pretends to be a man too.
Also, she's a hardcore tomboy, so it adds to that.

She does not even pretend to be a man, because sometimes in Japanese language cursory titles like "King" or "Lord" are not gender specific.
She is just a tomboy.

Women weren't allowed to be either King of England or knights, so they had to pretend to be men. That's as simple as that.

She is just a tomboy.

I mean calling herself a 'son' has nothing to do with titles like '-sama' or its equivalents. Mordred pretended to be a man her whole life. Even her fellow Knights of the Round were unaware.

I can't exactly see her as a regular tomboy because she was practically raised and brought up as a man, even though she's a woman. People often overlook that she's a homunculus who was handcrafted and raised by Morgan according to her plans. Her mind actually is like a dude.

They’re using “father” and “son” more as titles than them actually being male

People didn't get the idea, Mordred from Apocrypha is an alternate version of another world from the original, so much so that there is a male King Arthur.

In Fate/Stay Night, King Arthur is a woman because in that version of the world the story followed another path, Nasu himself confirmed that there is a primordial world in Fate, but he decided to create one with his own versions of these characters.

I can only imagine that Mordred believed Arthur to be male, since everyone else back then believed the same.
