I started watching this anime expecting to drop it after a few episodes. But I binged the entire anime and even ended up reading all the light novels that's released up to date lol. Sure, this can be classified as your typical guilty pleasure trash isekai but tbh it's one of the better ones, especially the light novel. The anime has atrocious CGI and animation but the revenge plot and a level headed protagonist made me binge the entire thing.

As for the LN, it got me hooked instantly. The writing is pretty neat, there's a clear plot, the pacing is near perfect and there are almost no filler chapters. I initially thought it to be similar to Arifureta with the entire class getting isekai'd and the final villain being a divine being and all. But after reading the entire thing, I can say it was a completely different experience from reading Arifureta. Unlike Arifureta, this one's not a harem series. The MC only has one partner (the blonde elf Seras) and there's very little focus on romance as it's a story of revenge. The story gets pretty dark and most villains are disgusting piece of trash that are beyond saving. And most of them are stronger than the MC in a fair fight. The other characters and classmates also play a major role in moving the plot forward. They ain't dumb sitting ducks waiting for the MC to do all the heavy lifting. Characters like Takao Hijiri (one of my favorites), Sogou Ayaka and Ikusaba Asagi can be considered alternative protagonists if the story were to be told from their perspective.

Anyway, even though the anime ain't all that great, I'm glad I decided to watch it cuz I ended up finding one entertaining light novel to pass my time.

Is it me or Seras did not accomplish anything as a "bodyguard" in the whole series ?
I wished the author made Seras and Eve more useful...
It's nice to have a "competent" MC but he should not accomplish everything by himself.

@Rukodaime91
Seras was completely out of her level in this season. She becomes more useful the longer the series goes on, when the enemies start to become aware of how his magic works.

It definitely got better since we got less cringe monologues and rapists in the 2nd half and focused more on the plot. I doubt this one gets another season, but would watch if it did

Animation seemed a little off with the monsters from time to time. Maybe that's just the art style. The relation ship between Touka and Ashrain seems a little rushed or not that smooth as it should be.

LOL, Seras "assaulted" MC in his sleep.

Tho... MC somehow figured out he's been assaulted... how? lol

.

And... the episode / season ends just like that, LOL

Well, with how it ends... it's almost a guaranteed to have a season 2, otherwise this would be the worst ending ever in the history of Isekai series, LOL.

Well... sometimes I drool while I sleep, so in the morning my lips were also wet.

But I guess wet lips does sorta make sense for detecting if you've been kissed if it's only been a short time.

That was a very abrupt last episode ending. Really hoping this means they plan to continue this show. Unlike most of the viewers I found it quite enjoyable to watch.

Some characters are a bit too edgy and the cgi could be much butter, but the story and adventure were interesting to watch. I loved how the MC was cut throat about his approach. A rare variety from all of the bleeding hearts out there.

Cool kindergarten-level argumentation. Do you use this line of reasoning in any other parts of your life?

"Oh, you complain about the train constantly being late / massive traffic jams on the road? Just build a rail company and provide a better service / create better road infrastructure yourself."

"The company you hired to build your house did a bad job? Then make it better yourself."

Not really, right?

The cgi was at best dodgy and at its worst provided a jarring viewing experience. You don´t need to work in the field yourself to make this statement. There´s good cgi to be found in anime, but this definitely ain´t it. But if I had a couple mil to drop on producing an anime, cgi would be the last thing I would allocate funds to.

I think overall what killed it for me was the setup in episode 1 and the villains in general. It is so weird how cartoonishly evil everybody is. Especially the goddess being so openly antagonistic kills me when I think about it.

Also, the ending was so abrupt that I believed they would have already announced a sequel, but apparently not.

watching this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in my life, all the elements were horrible
it's been a while since I felt so repulsed by a story like this and I say the same about the animation

Really nice isekai generic anime, its actually pretty interesting and really good pacing and mechanism just really good one BUTTTT the antagonist is just absolutely dull no characters at all and all their "evil" is repeatedly only justified by lusting over this girl everyone is just straight up creeps and the girl who is aware of that wears clothing like that, like the world might be better if she just didnt exist and will do more than what good she could do.

Just overall a really good generic isekai anime ruined by just completely overly sexualizing this girl who is aware of her situation yet continues to dress like that.

Goddamn, I'm really into trashy isekai anime, but this one is so trashy, it's simply bad. The characters were bad, the writing was all over the place, literally, and the less said about the animation the better. Such a waste of time!

The story is actaully pretty good. The line art/drawings are great, but the animation/Cgi were awful if I'm being honest. I don't know if it did well enough to get a 2nd season, but if it does, I'll be there, since im kinda hooked into the story. Solid anime.

The ending was fine, if it is true that they finished in the best part but I am sure that they can continue the development of the arc in a second season, with respect to animation I have no complaint, fulfilled his mission by keeping an expectant one before the story and development of the characters, my score 10/10

"Low level" spells xD bro basically got the OP skills from that world that insta paralyzes even GOLENS or structure-like creatures LoL and not only that, even his slime is OP.

This anime somehow reminded me of Arifureta, by the way.

This anime was a solid example of trashy isekai being actually enjoyable/likeable, so gonna rate 7/10

By the way, what are those red/pink/blue line contours/silhouette on the character's faces in these last episodes? xD

His spells are only strong because he has the unique skill to make them work 100% of the time if the conditions are met.

Well, this was a weird cross between Instant Death Ability and Arifureta, while not being as entertaining as either. At least those two shows embraced their campiness and featured modern technology like machine guns and rocket launchers. This one was just pure fantasy with very uninteresting fights, and it tried to be serious. But being serious is impossible when the MC can just two-shot everything. Ultimately very forgettable. 3/10

Instant Death Ability also had a read-the-LN ending, but without spoiling it, at least it ended at a good stopping point.

@Gippy
They would have needed 15 or 16 episodes to have a "good stopping point" (and the next volume they would have adapted also ends on a cliffhanger). With only 12 episodes it was the best possible place to end the season ; on the same cliffhanger that ends volume 4.

Generic "MC gets kicked out of the hero party" type show, however the MC, monster design and dark tone made it pretty entertaining. Shame about the trash CGI.

Seras really catching feels for Touka this ep. Seeing the classmates have their own conflicts at the end was a good cherry on the cake. They too, have their own problems and it just so happens to be related to their own ritualistic ideologies. Good series if we look at it for opmc but pretty bland otherwise
