I love this show, but I can’t help but think it’s appealing to that side of me that doesn’t care if things are fully thought out lol. A lot of the themes in the plot are way oversimplified. And the consequences are always played down for a happy-go-lucky outcome every time. It makes me feel like the show was styled for kids to watch, maybe to increase the audience size or maybe because it was always intended to be that way in the light novels.

The directing style and OST kind of give me that feeling too. The fight choreography is also more flashy than it is strategic or tactical.

But then there’s the arc with the Orc Lord and cannibalism. And there’s also a good bit of fanservice in the first season and OVAs. So I’m like … well, which is it? Haha
Is it actually just for adults that are children on the inside like me?

What do you think?

Tensura fan here.
Well, you're not wrong but it's just this season. In future volumes of the WN/LN, I hear things switch up totally. I mean, this season gives off that vibe because it's more like a laid back season before the EVENTS to come.
I still love s3 though and tbh, it's a 10 for me (this might be me being bias but tbh, idc).
Anyways, look forward to what's to come
I sincerely hope a 4th season is announced immediately after s3 airs because I really don't wanna have to wait for s4 of this PEAK. 👍🏾💯

Well, the demographic is shounen, which, if by kids you meant minors...

However, I don't think demographics matter that much, especially in Tensura's case as it was originally a light novel which doesn't have demographics.

at least someone understands cause. all I've heard this season is people complain how this is so slow granted it dropped in pace ( 9 episodes of setting. up the festival) but it helped build the world more we learned there are other monsters besides what we've seen so far met the queen of Thalion I mean it was interesting to learn about this world and the Rimurus is a lot bigger than we intentionally thought I believe there will be a season 4 I'm probably gonna by the LN instead of waiting for it to be animated

Tbh, the ending of the second season totally gives me that vibe too actually. And the style hasn’t really changed much at all since the first season. But I’ll look forward to the next season regardless, I’ll like it either way

@Cielord To be precise demographics like shounen, seinen, etc are only for manga not anime and LN.

Tensura is late night anime so not for kids.

100% its primarily for fanbois. They could show a slideshow and they would love it. It's SAO all over again.

I mean, true. But don’t you get the feeling that the happy-go-lucky style is directed at younger audiences a bit? Normally, a plot with geopolitical elements would be presented much more seriously

That’s exaggerating. Tensura fans would definitely hate to see what happened to TPN happen here

A few cuts without animation wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen though. It’d be a bit disappointing for sure

Orc Lord part was the only time this show got interesting, but even that was wrapped up in the most unsatisfying manner.

After that, it's just mostly juvenile humor and thousands of uninteresting characters with zero growth thrown at the screen.

Season 3 was 24 episodes of basically nothing happening. You can watch first and last episode and wrap up this filler season in two episodes and move on.

Not entirely. It does involve politics and economics which I would assume is too much for "kids". Teenages based is more like it.
