I don't mean the blackmailing part. I mean the oddly satisfying atmosphere the manga had. The town, the characters, the ambience, I can't express it properly coz of my weak vocabulary but I hope some of you will get what I mean.

I second that, short but great. I would also add Sundome to the list.

I suggest you read other works by the same mangaka. He excels in creating those psychological dramas. like chi no wadachi and happiness and boku wa Mari no naka.

Hi, maybe you mean the uneasiness you feel while reading the manga? That's how I felt while reading it at least. If that's the case, then the author's other work like Blood on the Tracks, Inside Mari and Welcome back Alice are good picks. I like those just as much as Flowers of Evil. I personally felt like the writing in Hapiness is worse compared to the author's other work, but some people like it, so give it a try. Also Goodnight Punpun might also be a good pick, although I have not read it yet.

I've been on the hunt for years. There are only two manga that truly fit the vibe:
Goodnight, Punpun
Sundome

You can check out other works created by Shuuzou Oshimi. I recommend starting from "Chi no Wadachi".

As for other authors, "Shounen no Abyss" by Ryou Minenami has similar vibe to "Aku no Hana"

No Longer Human (the version by Usumaru Furuya) gave me similar vibes to The Flowers of Evil. not 100% sure what you’re trying to explain but yeah they seemed similar to me at least in characters.
