Regarding the assigned genre...

is there a way to complain about the assigned genre? It is pretty ridiculous that this wasn't tagged as "romance", just as slice of life. This is inarguably romance, even the synopsis doesn't hide it one bit.
Even the source material was at least tagged also tagged "romantic subtext" (which is still completely wrong by their own definition of romantic subtext, but at least it would have been something).

It is actually hilarious that Makeine (https://myanimelist.net/anime/57524/Make_Heroine_ga_Oosugiru) was tagged as "romance" but NOT as Slice of life. I almost feel like there was a complete switchup between the two series here.

Note: The slice of life tag is still justified, I am nota rguing to remove that.

They'll probably change it once the show starts coming out, they change genre tags on shows every season.

If you ever want to, you can submit a genre yourself on MAL. I don't exactly remember how, but from what I remember, it was pretty simple. It just takes time for the mods to review the change.

@AntiSadboi Hm I guess that makes sense...except I feel like having the genres correct is most important before a series starts, when people only have that to guide them.

there is clear romantic progress throughout the 4-koma.

I don't understand why this is tagged as just subtext, she's already troubled about confessing her love in the 2nd episode.

This is more straight forward than most romances.
