No because rules are pretty absolute in this world including responsibility for offspring and my income in this world can’t support multiple families let alone dates and gifts as well as food and housing for an extended family. Too much cost vs reward.

What if you were wealthy enough?

Supercars. I’m too old now for that shenanigans 😂

@FutoiOtaku It's just hypothetical, if you were rich and could have a functioning poly relationship with your wife & favorite cosplay girls, would you want it?

I think it's almost impossible to do, but if you get permissions from your 'first wife', why not?😂

No. It’s fantasy. I’m in a 35 year monogamous marriage, too late now to impose something so destabilising on our relationship. If it happened at the start and we both wanted it, maybe. But not in my real life.

Nah I find when you love someone you love them so much it’s impossible to think of someone else that way

The right question here:

- Do you also want a relationship like Sylphie, but in a "One girl x Two (or more) Guys" version?

Say, hypocrites.
@Rob7 See no problem with it. If we were good friends - it's much better to have 2 people supporting you in tought times than one. Of course it's incredibly hard to actually make it happen in real life. I knew 1 couple which was destroyed by it (guy just someday came home and said "she will live with us. If you don't like it - get out"). And another couple which made it work (but I didn't know them personally)

Seems your wife got the most faithful husband she could hope for =)

Interesting result by the way, about 40% want polyamory, but most can't have it, largely due to conformity pressure from mainstream society.

@Zarutaku That's not love, that's just lust. Sharing your genuine feelings with more than 1 person is impossible, that's just not how humans are programmed. Polygamy does not work in any countries that have implemented it, there's always conflict in those kinds of relationships, more so than in monogamous relationships. Besides as I said it goes against human nature and basic instincts.
@SimplyBrazen idk man i know a muslim family with 4 wife here and they live happily till old? so your claim is pure BS

Writing other people with a different view off as "monogamous conformists" is a bit crazy LMAO. But not a chance for my life personally.

Polyamory (agreeing for you guys to have more than one other intimate partner) and Polygamy (having multiple spouses) are both considered unconventional and uncommon practices. However, I wouldn't say polyamorous behaviors are inherently wrong. Love is complicated, and polyamorous relationships work for specific folk with clear consent and active involvement from all parties. Hell, I know people who are polyamorous. However, they require far more work and communication from multiple parties. That is an agency that I, and many other humans, don't have. Don't let indulgent anime fiction fool you. It is not as great as you think to manage a "harem".

Several works of fiction make romantic relationships already hella idealized without factoring in 3 big important things of relationships: action, communication, and compromise. Several relationships constantly fail for these reasons being unattributed. "Now that you're together, the challenge now is to avoid breaking up" is a hella powerful quote I heard from a manga once. If countless humans struggle to manage a partner, let alone a spouse, and end up breaking up as a result, imagine the difficulty in managing multiple at once. You now have more factors to consider.

Look outside of fiction. Would those same partners feel completely secure with you "sharing the love"? How many "polyamorous relationship downfall" videos have y'all seen cus I've seen enough. Look at the receiving end perspective. Would you easily allow your partner to have other guys/girls on the side? Now that your partner is "sharing the love", it likely feels completely different. This situation becomes far too idealistic when you look outside the "harem protagonist" lens. They CAN work, but they require a lot of work.

However, fiction is fiction. MT will attempt to work the polygamy to keep the fantasy alive for viewers in tow. Don't expect that to be perfect in reality though.

Let's call it for what it is: poly-sexual. It's fine and funny, although messy

When it's about love I just can love one person.

Maybe for 1 out of 100 persons it works. May be. Whatever floats your boat

seems like more trouble than it's worth
Am I a good person? No. But do I try to be better every single day? Also no

Yeah, they live happily cuz the women in muslim families are practically slaves. I live in a country with a muslim majority, they ain't as happy as they may seem.

What if there weren't any significant trouble because everyone involved is sufficiently satisfied with the relationship?

@Zarutaku that can only work in a fairytale, like snow-white and 7 gnomes or some shit xD

@pasanoid I don't know, but this kind of seems like a defeatist excuse, it might work out if you find the right partners, but it never will if you don't try.
I know this well because I'm a defeatist myself, so I'm not entitled to judge, but maybe it inspires somebody to try their luck.

@Kuso_AR I'm literally posting for the first time in the forums just to say that I wholeheartedly agree with everything you've just said, you've written out my exact thoughts on this subject so eloquently.

I can guarantee that 75% of the people in this thread that are saying that they'd love to be in a polyamorous relationship have never been in an actual relationship in the first place. "Sharing" your love with another? That's absolutely delusional (and narcissistic) in my opinion. Real life isn't fiction. I have been in a monogamous relationship for over a decade now and I couldn't be happier. I also have friends who had open marriages and Muslim friends in polygamous marriages. None of those marriages lasted for more than 3-4 years, or if they did, everyone's always miserable or unsatisfied.

It's my belief that if you truly love someone, with everything you've got, there won't be any love left to "share" with others. Love is complicated, and it doesn't come as easily as people think, some people go their whole lives without ever realizing what love actually is. Don't mistake lust for love, and don't use fictional media as a template for your real life relationships.

With all that said and done however, everyone's entitled to their opinions, and I'm no expert on relationships either so like, what do I know?

Research on what? How ppl "claim" happiness? You know Finland has been deemed the happiest country on Earth for years now, yet they're committing suicide left and right.
