It was thanks to your comment btw that I got curious about it and I completely share your views here. Hannoi is indeed a great guy for giving Hotaru time to properly develop feelings for him, but the success is also to a great part on Hotaru's side for having been so open about trying it out and for actively wanting to understand his feelings throughout the series:
I also like how unlike in many other romance stories, there wasn't too much focus on other, (potential) rivals nor have there been any love triangles, something I haven't seen that often

| Because people these days dont understand that someone can have flaws and they just want characters to act perfect all the time. This anime is beautiful and definitely one of my favorite romance ones, Hananoi is relatable and an honestly great guy that respects her boundaries even though he has an overwhelming love for her, which is explained even better with the last episode. Just ignore peoples ratings, I think its just a random ass tiktok thing to diss on this before even trying it out. Each year that passes it feels like myanimelist ratings make less and less sense, considering something great like this is a 6 but something insanely lame like my hero still has an 8. |
