Hmm if I had to guess, I would say filler scenes with Tokitou had a purpose - to make him more likeable. Manga readers know what I mean.
Anyway, he is my fav character, so I kinda enjoyes paper planes scene☺️

@Masshiroi Well I wanted to see more about Mitsuri instead, besides that I really don't understand why Muichiro and Tengen have an episode each, while Obanai, Mitsuri and Sanemi didn't have one

You're in complete and utter denial lol, By others you are only refering to yourself. Without Ufotable nobody would know demon slayer, It is because of Ufotable that Demon slayer is popular today among people

If you actually wanted to make a point of whether or not Ufotable management is bad or not then you could have created a poll regarding that but deep down you knew what the results would be so you didn't

You are questioning Ufotables management yet you are getting 8 episodes worth of original content which adds to the rushed manga. Creating a entire episode out of 1/2 manga panels isn't bad managing anyhow, it's because of this studio in particular which got you hooked to the show or else it would have been a shit show

Well, it's true I find it difficult to like the wind and snake hashiras. One feels relevant for Genya backstory while another as a love interest we are supposed to go "aww" upon? Giyu is nice, but nothing extraordinary.

Shinobu was about to say something about her sister's killer - that felt more interesting, but it's fridged for too long while far less interesting things happen onscreen.

Mitsuri training felt the proper length for which many of these other trainings should have gone, because I don't think they helped me liking the hashiras any more. The other trainees are literally NPCs and I didn't feel like Tanjiro is learning something revolutionary.

Tokito was almost worth it for he's so cute (and it adds more to emotional weight attached to the character), but I'd rather reserve that for an OVA.

Off to Gyomei, feels like the least exposed hashira so far. Can they do more than the usual?

At this rate I am more interested about the backstories of the Ubuyashikis. Both husband and wife. The opening almost hints at something alike coming, but with allegedly three episodes left, spirits are falling.

8n my opinion, would you watch an entire episode of mitsuri and tanjiro stretching and eating pancakes and tea? no, right. the previous episodes had more to the training hence the length. I feel this was appropriately done since of course they need to finish the entire Hashira training arc. each episode dedicated to each Hashira would have been too much.

There's nothing worthwhile about Mitsuri. Whatever they put on her screentime is practically all that there is to her. Blame the original story

I think Mitsuri it's just not that compelling of a character that requires a whole episode for herself, at this point of the story we know pretty much everything that we need to know about her, also I think the next episode will be the last ome about training and the last two will be setting the next arc, at least I hope so 😝

I think ufotable has done a great job for this arc considering it's a super short arc in the manga

I love Mitsuri btw so no hate here, I just like how Ufotable let this anime breath

I'm also annoyed that the best hashira got the least amount of screentime for her training, but oh well. I don't think they could've done anything to make this season much better.

i hate that they rush things... what the heck is 8 episodes? can we have the normal shonen seasons of 24 episodes... literaly this arc and the previous 3 arcs could have been a whole normal anime season.. no wonder they cant live up to standards since of season 1.... fans would have waited 2 years for a normal season. they dont have to release it every year and give us useless rushed arcs..

@deg really? last time i heard during mugen train scene that the deal about how much mangaka would get from mugen train sale was already fixed so when mugen train blew up later on , mangaka still only got what they decided upon , hence a very small amount (i guess around $40k) rest of all money went to producers or whatever

i doubt mangaka in general hold much power in anime studio, otherwise we wouldnt get many mediocre adaptations (otherwise there author would do everything in power from getting things go bad)

@deg really? last time i heard during mugen train scene that the deal about how much mangaka would get from mugen train sale was already fixed so when mugen train blew up later on , mangaka still only got what they decided upon , hence a very small amount (i guess around $40k) rest of all money went to producers or whatever

i doubt mangaka in general hold much power in anime studio, otherwise we wouldnt get many mediocre adaptations (otherwise there author would do everything in power from getting things go bad)

@NaughtySempai the thing is the demon slayer author is new so they do not have much bargaining power in terms of profit sharing but definitely they hold much power when it comes to decision making
