Apologies if I ramble on, I tend to do that a lot when making posts.

I'm curious on anime only (mainly but manga reader too) thoughts on demon slayer right now. I'm aware overall season 3 wasn't received anywhere near as well as season 2 was, which I imagine everyone had their own various reasons for preferring season 2. Overall my only thing I didn't like about season 3 is they didn't extend Zohakuten vs Mitsuri fight like they did with Uzui vs Gyutaro. But overall I was happy with the finished product.

So I'm just curious, how are people feeling right now about demon slayer? Hyped for s4? lost all interest?

I feel like most people might be disappointed in season 4 because its a very lore heavy bridge season into the last 2 arcs of the story and based of the fact that its airing may 12th it will most likely only be 6-8 episodes roughly and sadly not adapt the side stories like I was hoping.

I'm more curious on anime only thoughts right now as most manga readers (myself included) are just all waiting for one of the most anticipated arc's of recent times to get adapted

I get the feeling that the last episode of season 4 will bring back demon slayers hype, (if you know you know)

I just hope Ufotable handles it right. So how are you feeling about demon slayer overall right now?

People are still very hyped, despite there is not much to be hyped for in the upcoming season. It will be mostly infodump and not much of actual fighting this series is known for.
Though people know, that best content is yet to come and when it comes and Ufotable does it justice.... oh boi. It will break the internet in half, which is why hype is still there.

Yeah I agree fully. I’m just holding out my hype for the last 2 arcs. Well that and the last episode of season 4

If I have to say about hype ...well in my area and around it is very hyped up but it is really not that much as it was for season 3....(most likely season 2...)
I am not very hyped up for season 4 this time....this can be probably because I have read manga......(I have to mark it bruh!)
And as you said I am litterally hyping for stuff coming after it ....you know....Considering it as just a 'build up' for major thing.....

I'm not so sure about the hype in general, since I think the hype has considerably died down regarding the latest season(s), but as a manga reader I can personally say that I'm rather hyped for this arc. It's fun, a nice bridge into the final arc, and it expands on a lot of the worldbuilding and characters and their relationships

Yeah I agree, demon slayer is kinda in the awkward phase I saw coming when reading the manga with season 3 and season 4.

I’m still very hyped for season 4 though especially what’s gonna happen on the final episode

It won’t be 12 episodes I’m 100% certain of that. If it was they would air it alongside every other spring show but instead they are airing it like a month into the spring season.

not at all but tbh i never was really hyped for this series. everything about it is mid af, beside the god-like animation. in the long term tho audience need something more than just great quality production to keep the hype, and demon slayer just doesn’t have anything interesting going on about it, so the hype died down.

That’s a fair take tbh, I feel like not many people appreciate ds story because it dosent really compare to the much more in depth anime’s out there.

Such as Aot or JJk. But demon slayer does have a good story just compared to most shonen it is beyond simple.

as someone who used to love demon slayer, i cant say im hyped for it. i read the manga after mugen train thinking it would get even better and ended up being very disappointed. the fights were still nice, but storywise it wasnt very good, and s3 was much worse than i expected it having already read the manga. also, the upcoming arc is just training, not much fights like the series is known for.

I got on the train pretty late, right before the swordsmith village arc. So it's pretty fresh for me, and I'm still excited. I also haven't read the manga, so I'm actually curious to see what happens next.

If your an anime only I’d advise you to try stay away from spoilers as best as possible. Because once season 4 ends there will probably be a lot of talk about the 2 arcs after that.

Aka season 5/6

The final 2 arcs are the most anticipated in the whole story.

I think it's best to just ignore public opinion and watch a show you're interested in without caring about others' opinions.

Do I think demon slayer deserves the popularity it has? no, not at all.

Do I look forward to watching it when a new season comes out? 100 percent yes.

Do I wish that the person who sees it as a 10/10 show is attacked for it? 1 million percent no, despite me not agreeing in the slightest.

We should try to create communities that are interested in hearing people praise shows they like without having to fight a verbal battle with someone online just because their opinions differ.

e.g. I watched fairy tail when I was about 14. To this day, it's one of my favourite anime. Don't care what people say.

Not going to bother watching anymore after third season. All it has left is Ufotable's animation even though I would say their other works are better in that. Also, I don't want to see even a milisecond of Zenitsu on screen ever again.

They skipped person to person a lot and didn’t extend the fights. The story telling was fine but did seem a bit sped up but that’s me. Not enough fleshed out. With infinity castle I hope they fix this and make it 24 ep or 2 seasons and extends the fights and depth of the characters.

tbh I think its alright but Im not as big about it as I was in the first 2 seasons. Personally its partly bias - I dont like the Mist Hashira all that much, for example, and he played a big part in the latest anime season. I also wasnt exactly thrilled that this one season killed off two of the upper moons. We're down to half of them now, after all. I wasnt that big on the fact this entire time Muzan's just been looking for one of his kind to be able to stand sunlight.

So honestly the only thing Im looking forward to now is for us to learn more about the other three Upper Moons, and Im worried that Muzan's just going to use them recklessly because he doesnt give a shit and they're going to die pretty soon.

Yeah I can understand that, in my case Muichiro is my second favourite hashira and as for the upper moons. You won’t be disappointed.

Gyokko was kind of a throwaway moon to use to display how strong the mark is (and muichiro) whereas Hantengu/Zohakuten was the big threat.

But the last 3 moons are not in any way throwaway demons and you’ll be satisfied. Demon slayer is coming to an end after all. If they decide to really milk it out then we got 2 more seasons after the hashira training.

But my guess would be we only have 1 more season after hashira training. As the final 2 arcs are basically part of the same thing. But season 5 will be big compared to season 3 and 4.

But rambling aside the last 3 moons shouldn’t disappoint.

as an anime watcher, too much backstory and its the same mindless repetition of "oh lil bro was attacked by demon so became demon slayer". and yea, the fight scenes were too anticlimactic but im willing to pass it since this time they were far stronger and even had demon slayer marks.
as a manga reader tho.. demons are not enough of a villian. douma is fine but rest all aint even villainous. i want a proper villian, a menace who fucks everything and everyone. muzan is fine in that manner but the upper moons, nah. also manga isnt that good either. its hard to read imo. demon slayer works 100x better in an anime form.

I am hyped for the upcoming seasons. They haven't even touched the best part yet. The overall hype is nowhere dead. S3 itself was again the most watched anime of last year. The infinity castle arc will break records.

In my honest opinion, I feel like anime watchers might be slightly underwhelmed following the events of the last season.

The pressure that was put onto Ufotable to deliver a season BETTER than the last was less than optimal considering the conditions… The storyline of SSV was always a bit lacklustre in my opinion, but it serves as the gateway between the critics of KNY always saying the anime showcases many “basic” and “typical” anime troupes. I see SSV as an important point on the story, but I entirely understand why people may be hesitant or doubtful of the future of Demon Slayer / KNY.

Spoiler warnings just in case, but the author even knew themself that the story could not deliver to its full potential at the rate it was going. So in reality, SSV is always the weakest point of the story and always will be. So if people are starting to think the anime is falling off, they simply do not know what is coming. The story takes a turn to the deeper, darker, and more unfair reality that the author KNEW it needed, and SSV / HTA serves as a transitional point for so.

In other words, I understand the disappointment following the last season, most of it was because of the nature of the story, but there was also some inconsistencies with the pacing and animation. I also understand the possible confusion that will arise from anime-only’s following the upcoming season… SSV may not be up to standard with the likes of Entertainment District or Mugen Train, but SSV is a nice send-off of the fun dynamic between noobie Tanjiro and the ever-inspiring and strong Hashira. Hashira Training Arc will be the first glimpse of the potential of the Hashira and also their downsides… Demon Slayer really had us thinking that the Hashira were inhuman themselves, but remember, they were always human in the story, just the best of the best. An example I’d like to use to conclude is Einstein, it’s undeniable that he is a mastermind, but he himself still had flaws. Einstein could do much, but he couldn’t do it all.

TL;DR, it’s understandable if people are underwhelmed at the series’ current state, but it’s not worth hating on / giving up on. I think SSV did what it needed to, but even as someone who KNEW what was coming, I even had high expectations for the season which I clearly shouldn’t have had. The arc did what it needed to, but not much more than that… I also think ufotable might be saving budget or training up more staff members for what is to come because it’ll be a LOT of money, time, and resources. Either way, we are in good hands and I think everybody should stick with the series, despite it not being 10/10 at all times which, let’s be real, we all really wanted.

Tbh while Demon Slayer was one of the animes that helped me get back into anime, I find it okay at most and ngl I enjoyed season 3, as for season 4: I'm not really interested to learn the stories of the hashiras and all. I really can't care about those twats, the only hashiras that were somewhat good were Tengen and Sanemi (imo) and the 12 year old meat riders of this show really piss me off as well like seriously grow tf up and stop thinking that Mitsuri would step on you but that's too off topic ig. I'm really only here for the final season at this point (shit has been going on for too long it's time to wrap things up) and I pray to God they don't milk this series with all that "3 movies" bs. Just give us a normal final season. Seriously this isn't a Kanye West album, you don't have to sabotage it with some random bs.

I personally LOVED sworthsmith, but as a manga reader, I was really surprised that they were making the hashira Training its own season. I’m still hella excited about it and the following arcs, but I was just surprised. Ik a lot of people are hating on demon slayer right now, which I don’t get at all, but it is my personal favorite and literally any new episodes with those amazing characters is good enough for me. I am scared though that there are going to be more haters soon though because of this next season, so my advice to anyone who isn’t a uh…. “huge fan” would be to just drop it now instead of hating on it <3
