That's because suddenly, every western fan forgot that they were reading Japanese media, and threw a fit. It's REALLY not that hard to just ignore it, as it is given like what, a page in the Manga, and 10 seconds in the Anime? Like yeah, Japan is weird when it comes to their media, if tentacle hentai hadn't already made that apparent to everyone.
