They pulled a fast one on us....and then they broke a chair over our heads. Got to learn about Asuma backstory and the bros got to hang with each other for a bit. But the damn bird aint having it and took asuma. And we see Taichirou push his bro away to save him from this virus.
Im sure everyone already noticed but i got to just spit it out there, a live computer virus?! On one hand, wtf. On the other, what am i saying, there is no other hand. The only plausible thing i can think of is just some sort of electricity just frying a certain part of the brain to cause this type of damage. But even then, just dumping it onto someone else? And that begs the question, did the assistant recieve that same choice? Considering, we don't know hear much about her sister now as well as her just repeating this info to make sure. Idk, my head is loopy rn.

Damn, I've always been weak for brotherly bonds in stories and that hit pretty hard... Taichiro's decision may have been affected by the fact that he has fairly little regard for his own life in the real world in general, but the way he has saved Asuma twice by now with absolutely no hesitation despite claiming to hate him at the start of the series is really touching. This anime is the literal definition for "the plot thickens" and it's honestly pretty incredible to see how much the characters have changed through all the little bits of information gradually being dropped.

I feel like we just hopped into a new story. A story of AI doing some wack shit (that it can't do unless it's intentionally programmed for murder and everything has advanced to the point we got a new era going).

For an all-at-once release like this I usually comment only the first episode and the last episode, but this episode is worth my time to praise on this thread.

And just like that, Taichirou's personality suddenly takes a 180 degrees turn. An egoistic shut-in piece of shit becomes an honorable hero who saves his beloved brother. Quite a far-fetched development but oh well, still keeps me on the edge of my seat

I doubt Ichi will be trapped in this virtual torture world forever, but it's not outside the realm of possibility either. Even the blond guy from earlier didn't deserve that kind of hell.

On another note, Ichi gives off the surface impression of being selfish and spiteful towards others because of his verbal (mainly internal) perception of them, but both his flashbacks and current actions contrastingly show him to have a considerable level of compassion for people, even to sacrificial extent. It feels as if the lack of value he assigns the real world with even applies to his own person, hence things like taking the blame for the smashed cup or risking being trapped in Black Bird's virtual realm to save Asuma.

So why can't Taichiro get back to the real world? I bet he has to defeat the entire virus code!
