The Orange Special Rescue squad, at least for the destined 3 of Daigo, Shun and Yuki, it's a hard-fought job.

Even after office hours, Shun thought that because of Daigo's deal with Sergeant Yamagami, he's being forced to do things outside his control. Shun could not be farther from the truth, but Daigo left him hanging, and even Yuki followed up with Daigo's training because of the higher-ups, they did the total accumulation of their punishments of the day.

Training people that will save people in natural disasters is not easy, and its trainings are so special that they are tailor made to real-life fire disasters, which the destined 3 have to fire through this with accuracy and precision. And one such training is the Burn Room, which exposes them to a contained fire within a small space, that puts all of their training to the test. At least for Shun, he finds himself in a blazing inferno, finding a Code 252 and then signalling Daigo to rescue it. Added with the complexities of Sergeant Yamagami's changing orders, Yuki, Daigo and Shun all fight their way through with teamwork and needed sacrfiices.

The insight into the Japanese way of firefighting, it's very different from the world and very edutational.

The visual, the audio, the music, and voice actors are working together in harmony to achieve such a realism that makes me feel like I'm really lose consciousness in that building, waiting for a rescue team to find me lying on the ground.

You know the teacher has high expectation from you when he suddenly throw an extra hard test just for you, it's the same fact both for normal school and firefighter school.

Also Toake offers Onoda his oxygen = ship, change my mind.

I liked this ep a lot better. Even if its training it was still intense. Liked the directing of this ep

My bet on toake is he the son of a highly decorated firefighter that why he pushing so hard he doesn't want the other candidates to know about his family history like the sergeant usually uses one of his father rescues as a teaching aid

Visually it's fine and the training and how the characters are slowly becoming friends and stuff it's also fine. But I can't shake the feeling that it's propaganda, with an outdated cheesy tone all around, without, at the moment, something epic going on to make up for it, since the anime it's apparently going to be one big training arc. And already the second episode was 15 minutes long, when you take out opening, ending, and recap.

Good training episode, at least I thought hehe.
I hope Shun realizes that saving someone's life is not a competition...

onoda's single minded desire to be better than his teammates is going to make him someone to like as he grows later. This episode is a lot of anxiety building as the newbies experience fire

He gave his breather => so he gave him his breather ! ♥

Lovin' this one, different from Daigo (OG) and still touching with self sacrifice and over the top moments ! ♥

I really hope 6 minutes out of 23 being a recap won't be a weekly occurrence

For whatever reason the almost 5 minutes of recap at the beginning of the episode really annoyed me. The episode was fine otherwise.

Show is really flying under the radar for people, I was on the edge of my seat right as the episode ended. Pretty decent so far! Like others mentioned though, that 6 minutes of waste kind of annoyed me at the start.

Not exactly the edge of your seat thriller but this still seems like its going to be a grounded realish anime about some serious shit, I want to see where it goes and what happens.

The five minutes of recap / rescreening scenes from E1 was a bit much.

Otherwise I actually like the slow pacing in the show. It gives a good feeling of the pressure the characters are under. Makes it a lot more tense and exciting than some action shows!

And I love how they ended on the indirect kiss - EHM I mean, totally platonic assistance from Daigo. It was a nice bridge to the (totally platonic) rejection at the end of the first episode.

The recap was overkill.

Still frames and such seemed kinda reminscent of older times, old movies. But not in a bad way.

It did get quite intense at the end.

So what do basic firefighters do then? This is an elite unit but they're doing what all firefighters should be doing right?

This is barely the second episode, why do we need such a long recap?

750 squats? What is Daigo made of?

What the heck, Amakasu-san is gorgeous. Also, the characters blush a lot, like a lot.

The training is so intense that it feels like something could go wrong at any moment. However, the three main characters are showing how the rescuing procedure should be done.

Hopefully they don't make a habit out of recaps. The intensity of the second half of the episode totally made up for it though.

so out of the three, Daigo was the first to get orange then after 6 months Shun got orange as well, looks like Yuki will eventually get there as well...

Wow, great episode. The training is so intense, and its really cool to remember the flash back at the beginning of the 1st episode, of them as professionals, and watching them get to that point is exhilarating.

Realistic training sequence. Even more intense training for the special rescue squad trainees. Of course one has to have that insane drill sergeant for the training squad that has our main characters. So far so good here.
