| Leonhart and Anubis are back at it again with Sariphi's queenship ordeal, though clearly the ordeal with Duke Galois is the latter's cry that she would renounce her queenship before it was renewed. Despite Sariphi living in Leo's quarters, her "act" to convince the beasts that the human isn't all bad, it's just Anubis that refuses to accept the reality of her, while escorting her to the forbidden library to get some historical books. It's true that Anubis can just kill her then and there, but him falling unconscious when the former accidentally dumped some books onto him, the recollections of the Anubis family come reeling back to him, under his real name: Sirius. Not being able to attend his father's funeral, he uses the time to take care of young Prince Leo, but it can be said that his stringent mentality came from his upbringing. Surprisingly, young Leo had Sariphi's fancy idealism while Sirius saw reality in the face, being one to proclaim that he's fine, even when he's not. The change with Sirius comes about with young Leo checking in on him when his mere vassal fell ill, and to make matters worse, both him and young Leo got kidnapped by assassins. The former's deal as disposable vessels of royalty is a statement, but Leo protecting him from harm is the hallmark of a just king in the making who protects his own people. The selfish Anubis who turned from his ways of looking inward, to seeing Leo as a future king to protect from now and forevermore, he is his shadow to hold steadfast of his promises to him. And now, Sariphi is the one taking care of him, even at the behest of his hatred (which is his usual self), and although Leo does not show it, he's legit concerned too in his own ways. With that, the council converged of Anubis allowing Sariphi to continue her test of queenship, it's a legitimate test from here on out. The acknowledgement is small, but it's one nonetheless. |

| So we finally get Anubis backstory. Dude been a prickly tsundere since he was a kid. But it kind of makes sense given his family history. The king actually seems way more chill as a kid, I wonder what happened between adolescence and adulthood to make him harder(pause) I still feel like anubis a little gay for the king. But glad he’s giving Sariphi a chance, just like he gave the then prince a chance to show that he was worthy of being served. |

| I dont understand Anubis. He didnt want to become the Anubis because of how the royalty is yet wanted to turn the young prince later to be known as Leonhart inito the basically same kind of ruler he hated. Does he stand for nothing but his own self interests ? At least he showed he has some heart though doesnt really make up for him being seconds away from murdering Sariphi. @Phantom667 @Zaxphred Makes me kind of wonder from size differences and from how the previous king acted could it be Leonhart's mother died in childbirth because of her being a human birthing a half beast? Plus there is the whole miasma thing that poisons humans. |

Though I guess being so young at the time it makes sense he wouldn't really have a conscious thought about it. But on other hand this was a secret so the mother probably wasn't there long enough to get one. |

| Lil Leo and Anubis were adorable! Can't blame Anubis there, lol. At first I also speculated that Sari was 200 IQ manipulator, toying with Leo masterfully :) But, we shouldn't forget this bastard Anubis was THIS close to MURDERING innocent Sari!!! Truly a bastard! |

| all kids look really weird in this anime :D didnt really care for that backstory but the interaction between mr dog and sari was amusing. though i must wonder why sari wouldnt correct him and say that she didnt do anything to achieve survival. quite the opposite actually, she was constantly saying she was fine with being kille. |
