I haven't watched this yet but I stumbled across the question regarding Shounen-ai, Unlike Yaoi, Shounen-ai can be implied feelings or some sex references to a homosexual audience. Could be romance, but in this case not. |

That he felt that "Something was off" is the only part I didn't like, but still a Detective Conan movie is always great xD |

This is 1 of my favourite movies, in a way like 7th. Instead of Heiji theres Kogoro bossin' here, great movie that gets alot unneeded hate.. (Kogoro is 1 of my favourite characters) 5/5 |

Yay! Kogoro-san got some limelight for a change! :P Overall, good movie. 8/10 The whole "ship-gonna-sink-thing" was so expected. LOL After all, it happened 15 years ago. History always repeats itself. The mystery was alright. Not my favourite, since we already knew the culprit(s) from the beginning. Conan and Ran are cuties. 'Nuff said. :D |

I got to say, my favorite part was honestly that Kogoro got to shine a bit more. I loved seeing as how Kogoro got to solve a case and fight against the villain, I want to see more of that. However, at the end it featured Ran being stupid and Conan/Kudo moments, that's getting old. |

So we had an exploding twin hightower, a plane crash and now a sinking ship. It seems like where ever Conan goes in a movie, not only people are dying but also something explodes xD I liked that Kogoro this time had a great show and been the better detective :3 |

Zero said: This is my least favorite Conan movie, so far. A tad too many coincidences to enjoy it to the fullest. I'm with you. I'm not a fan of "howdunnit" stories, they're much more boring when you already know who the culprit is and everybody's still trying to figure it out. that being said, I still liked Kogoro's deduction at the end, it was cool to see him truly get the spotlight for once. I also didn't like how Ran went back for a shitty seashell necklace that the kids would have easily been able to re-make, and would have understood if she lost it on a freakin' sinking ship! That made me just go like "Dammit Ran, what the hell are you doing?! It's just a necklace!" It made the whole final act feel like Ran's fault, which made it less tense and more just like "dammit, if only she didn't go back for that shitty necklace, then it wouldn't have been such a close call on the ship, this is stupid". Also, I feel like even though they tied that little car crash mystery in at the end, it felt incredibly out of place the few times they brought it up in the rest of the film. Weakest film thus far, for sure. I hope they start to get better again, going forward. |

Honestly I think this was my favorite film. Originally I was going to give it a 5 because it was an obvious plot. Then in dropped to 4 when Ran once again did something really really stupid by going after that necklace and getting trapped. Then what happens? Mouri comes in like a BOSS and has a true deduction show of his own. He had everything figured out hook line and sinker (with a very very small assist from Conan which I didn't mind) then took her out with the judo throw. My biggest issue with the show is Kogoro not solving enough cases on his own. He is a capable detective that gets reduced to comic relief too often. For a movie to let him come out of nowhere and take the spotlight like that, 8/10 purely for Kogoro. Thank you writers for giving him a bad ass moment. |

Honestly, I don't remember one thing about the plot or the mystery, but I still remember this movie as one of the best simply because of the fact Kogorou outsmarted Conan. I get it, we need a comic relief, we need the wrong for Conan to correct, but this guy used to work for the police, this guy IS a detective, he should be way more capable than we are led to believe. And this movie got it right. |

I really like how they show some live action footage at the end of every movie ;D |

Still doesn't rise above the standard Conan-Movie, so 6/10. |

Well it was a plane last movie and now a ship, we've already had a towering inferno so which disaster's next I wonder. :D More of a howdunnit than who this time as even the secondary killer was made obvious to the audience when she walked past Kogorou early on. I'm not sure it's my favorite Conan film, in fact I doubt it is, but I'm also gonna give this one high marks simply for Kogorou's chance to shine. He was pretty great there at the end. Kinda wish he didn't let himself get an ass whuppin' just because she was a woman Sanji style(though this kinda predates that), and Conan shouldn'ta distracted her to enable the judo flip, but eh. I'll take what I can get. :D And that casual stop here: was pretty badass. :D I know Ran haterz got a point with her plot induced stupidity going back for the necklace/bracelet, but I'm ok with it. Ran's my favorite female in the series, and that little piece of her and Shinichi's past they reenacted was sweet. Even Conan literally hanging by the necklace, over the top schmaltz that it was, put that big goofy grin on my face. I'ma give this a 9/10. A 8's probably more accurate, but anytime Ran and her dad get attention I feel extra generous. :D |

This is one of my favourite movies so far although i dont really like if they already show the villain in the early stage of the movie. When Kogoro went badass i was so hyped . Kogoro is such an great character imo he is very funny but he can be very impressive as well when he gets serious like in this movie. I wish Kogoro would get much more of these shining moments in the main series since he definitely deserves it. |

The final thing Conan says is: "I was saved thanks to those guys' considerate feelings for others," referring to how Conan almost fell when the helicopter saved them from the sinking ship, but he was able to grab onto the shell bracelet on Ran's wrist that the Detective Boys gave her. Pretty ironic, since Conan wouldn't have had to go back for Ran if they didn't do something pointless like that in the first place, and they could've all just went straight into the life boat together. Yet another reason why I hate the Detective Boys. |

Same as always, every case of detective conan is about revenge. I hate this thing. When someone got revenge that makes him criminal but who is the real criminal here? I hate this revenge things most it looks like Conan helps the real criminal to save him from the avenger. |

This was going to be a solid 8/10 for me, but those last 10 minutes dragged. Like we didn't have enough suspense and drama, they had to shoehorn even more in there. |

Despite knowing the culprit from the beginning, it was still a very suspenseful movie. And I'm always hyped when Kogoro gets to kick some ass. As already pointed out, the additional drama with Ran was kinda overkill. That's the only real issue I got. |

I liked the plot twist with the identity of the true killer It's not that uncommon but I like the plan of having a scapegoat who really think they did it. And Kogoro rarely show why he is a detective, so it was nice to see him doing it. Sadly, the ending is kinda ruined by Ran stupidly going back to the boat for the conveniently lost bracelet. And then says it saved the situation when they wouldn't have been in it without this thing to begin with. At least, it's a relatively short sequence but if it was 1h30 long and was the same without that plot, it would have been better. |

The case was good and Kogoro getting to shine for once, rather than being portrayed as simply a comedic brainlet like in the other movie, was badass. Unfortunately, everything surrounding the case was dumb. Ran is by far my least favorite character in Conan and the movie is her at her worst. From being so nice of a person to the point of stupidity, to being a damsel for her prince to rescue, to never shutting up about "shinichi". Girl, you're not Rose jumping for Jack. It's a damn hand-made bracelet put together in an evening. Kogoro doesn't fight a woman, until he decides to fight a woman... The helicopter had a whiplash for no reason. Like, literally for no reason. There's not a gust of wind or anything that would've caused it to move like that, but god forbid rescue mission went smoothly. There's got to be drama amirite? All that talk about "we're going to die". Just jump into the water at whatever position that would make it easy for a life boat to spot you. It's that easy. This isn't the titanic, the water isn't freezing and there're more than enough boats. There is no tension no matter how much the movie wanted me to believe. |

Poor Ran bro, how easy is it to suffer a concussion TWICE? And at the most convenient times I have to say. I wish some of these acts in the movie were just normal ones instead of having to make a big deal out of it, like the bracelet being made. I'm not surprised by the whole damsel in distress thing just wish they'd make it more believable. The one and ONLY thing that did irk me is when the scriptwriter was holding the detonator in his hand and I don't know whether it was a crew member that wanted to play hero and tried to catch him but failed thus leading to the button being pressed, it was just a dumb move and could've prevented everything tbh. Usually when someone is holding something dangerous like that the ideal thing is to find the best moment to stop him and not just deciding to get closer to him. |
