Will this ever get a S2

This anime is definately one of the most underrated I've seen. It's no masterpiece but a simple and carefree story about judo. Honestly I've seen a couple sports animes here and there but this one did the best into bring that fighting spirit in me. In many cases I felt like cheering them on. Author really sticks with the story and doesn't do any dumb clichés or unnecessary fan service which I really appreciate. Any news on a possible S2? How likely can it be?

I think a season 2 would be pretty likely for this show. On Anikore (Japanese MAL) it was for the most part consistently at 2nd place on their rating for last season and currently sits in 3rd so it was pretty well received with Japanese audiences. I would also love a season 2. the show was super fun and had a lot of likable characters.

this show was a 8/10 for me for personal preference and seeing how the manga is ongoing I really hope for a s2 especially cause we never saw Nagumo fight , I also wanna see Sanae get stronger aswell as the other girls thos show was just overall amazing and so cute and I hope for a 2nd season

Most likely not, but it would be pleasantly surprising. I think the studio is relatively unknown so that may be a good thing.

I'm 100% with you. I think it's underrated because exactly as you said there isn't dumb clichés and fan service and that's what anime fans like in general, that's why they don't like mou ippon and all shows with logical development or with mature casts.

Overlooked doesn't even begin to describe it. It's been a long time I saw a show made with such genuine love and passion to get so low in MAL ranking.
It feels good to know that it is much more popular in Japan and we will probably get S2. The western anime viewers, on the other hand, ride on the hype train way too much sometimes.
