| Because that's sure as hell what this looks like. Edit: For those who just don't seem to get it. . . Zone released the song in 2001, exactly 10 years before AnoHana. Something they even point out in the anime version by calling it "10 years after version". So the events surrounding Menma's death would have happened the year the song debuted as there is a 10 year gap between her death and the events of the anime. The song says they'll meet again 10 years later in August and that's when Menma and Jinta reunite and the story begins. They leave out the meeting part of the song and they didn't part because of a school transfer, but the rest of the lyrics fit the series well. They always hung out at their secret base to have fun adventures and they did have a falling out at their base and though it took 10 years in the anime where in the song it happened in the original parting Pretty sure they used Secret Base as the inspiration for the series. |
