The movie is tagged as a sequal. Should i really watch it? This didnt feel like it needed a sequal.

it's a glorified recap with a few new scenes that take place years after

There is some recapping and some new scenes, which happen years after, making it a sequel.

While the majority of the movie is a recap, it does show the characters after the final episode of the series, so if that interests you then I would still recommend watching it.
