Amuro Ray is the BEST protagonist in Gundam and mecha history as well being the BEST pilot that doesn't even COMPARE to other pilots like Suzaku from Code Geass and Shin from 86 since Amuro has so much skill and experience as a pilot over the years when he was just in the young age of 15 plus Nu Gundam is the most op and strongest mech upon performance and technology  |

He isnt much of a pilot, but on the flipside he's a badass mage. And his Mecha is just better, plus also comes included with a sentient book waifu. And to give the coupe de gracé to Amuro: he actually gets a best happy ending (2! of them) where him and love interest survive. As for Shin from 86. He should be a much better pilot then Amuro since he didnt get carried by a mobile suit, much less a super-robot. |

| Yeah, Suletta is pretty cool. Not sure why some people here think piloting skills equal good character though. I guess in terms of UC power scaling Kamille would be number 1, Amuro at the end of the day still wins most of his battles because of superior tech and even when the tech is even he fights against lesser newtypes. Edit: I guess I personally really like most Gundam protagonists except Kira Yamato. |

The most negative thing about her I noticed are her social anxieties cranked up quite much, but at least she's not a dude who one minute says he wants to be treated like an adult and the moment the shoe is on the other foot goes full on 180 and cries about being kid (EP 9 in Z). IMHO, Suletta has nothing on Daryl Lorenz (technically he is a deuteragonist, but let's omit this details) from Thunderbolt. |

| Not sure. It's the most vibrant MC so far from the Gundams I've seen (Wing, Seed, 00, Orphans, Hathaway, original G) but it's also very awkward to the point it's annoying sometimes and also cringe; fo far I can't tell if I like her or not, but we truly can say a lot about her with only seven episodes (counting prologue) meaning that she has more depth (even if it's much) as a character which let's be real, we can can't say as much from others MC in the series. |
