Ranking of Kings fell off so badly, how does it still have a fanbase?

But the second half was one of the biggest cliff dives in terms of quality I've seen in a long time. The animation worsened. The fights became deus ex machina with terrible storyboarding. The pacing was ATROCIOUSLY bad, with fights that should've been 1 episode or less lasting way longer. Character motivations just became this flip flop back-and-forth of "I'm on your side" to "Not on your side" then repeat. Miranjo became one of the worst villains I'd seen in a while, with such a messy backstory, awful motivations, and a laughably bad conclusion.

How does this show have fans still? Sure the first half was amazing and Bojji is great but I can't ever look at this series the same again after it decided to completely destroy itself. Are anime fans incapable of admitting that a show made some massive flaws?

The show presented the relief characters existence and coming, always.
And no character motivation was that of a psychopath who just want people dead and vengeance. Even the prisoner kings wanted money and power.
"Ruins Miranje as a villain" and leaves off why do you think so.
This is actually the best of the storytelling, the character goals, past and present situation make them correct the means to achieve them as they get better information, in a true way it is side character development. First half did the same with Snake Tamer.
There is no plothole.
Please, stop thinking all tales should conform to what you've seen in past.

Plenty of shows have fallen off and still have a fanbase. Just look at Attack on titan and To your Eternity for instance.

Also, Hunter x Hunter exists. That show basically is the king of falling off, then getting back together, then falling off again. People still label that show as a masterpiece. If Ranking of Kings gets way better in quality in the next season, then more people will be talking about it again.
