It's back to the corporate badminton tournament, and the Mitsuhoshi Bank team is on the lookout for potential competitors, people whom they know from their past.

The matches continue, and Sunlight Beverage are facing the Unisics team again, which they lost the last time to. Good on them that Mikoto is doing extensive research on their doubles opponent and factoring in alternative currents, and he's paving the way for their success while the games give them constant pushbacks in the usual heated 21-point match. Now that was a good match to edge the win for the Mikoto-Tatsuru duo over the world's 2nd best duo of Hayato-Daiki, score 15-21, 21-19, 21-19.

The rest of the Unisics team players are incredibly good and talented as well. Ayoto is more than just a pretty boy as a prodigy genius to win over Sota, and even with Koki's naked imagination, his match with partner Toya is not enough to win over the Ryo-Jun Unisics duo. Overall, it's not enough for the Sunlight Beverage team to recover, earning another loss.

For the proclaimed Usuyama of the East, his badminton got in the way of the usual growing-up events of schooling, getting married, raising a family and having a job, so much so to give it all up.

But when things are just about to get good, Mitsuhoshi Bank comes back with a vengeance for Takuma to trigger Mikoto's PTSD again to take down Tomari's Azuma as partner in his young badminton days, but also with Tatsuru and Naohiro Izumo's relationship as former partners as well. Settle all at the S/J League.

With Usuyama's inclusion to the Sunlight Beverage team after much debating against his own will and his family, they gave him the push to concede. I can't wait to see how he would shake the team up for improvement to get back to his old craft.

Yeah, back to the tournament.

I like that prodigy, Ayoto. He's so talented.

There are two things I hate to see in sports anime, injury being one of them. And Tatsuru's injury isn't even necessary to the story considering that Mikoto can already jump, he doesn't need any push now. So what purpose does this injury serve? Only to show that Tatsuru is not young anymore? Or as an excuse if they'll lose in the future match? Or to switch partner from Tatsuru to Toru? With Tatsuru being retired? Or just to make Mikoto feeling bad for injuring his partner again?

Deliberately throwing the first set was such a dumbass move that would just never happen at the top level lol, speaking of top level, are these salarymen really the top players in the world in this anime? Or is that excluding the pro tour? People keep saying the second best player in the world, the second best team in the world, etc...

Right now, the coach is kind of just there at the moment, needs more focus on him...

Man, Usuyama's definitely my favorite character right now. I love his family, fucking wholesome.

With Usuyama back, Souta's probably gonna be benched, and that's probably gonna be the issue they're gonna resolve with his motivation-less self.

What a great episode!! And the animation lived up to the match, I’m glad the quality has been so consistent. So many cute guys to look at, great voice cast, SOL sports, really my kinda anime♡

And of course they will tease us with Tatsu’s ass again. They are doing it on purpose at this point!!!! Lolollll his pants just magically disappeared for our sake u3u

I teared up a little when Usuyama was running towards the team & there were those flashbacks. Damn, sometimes, almost always, life just gets in the way. I’m glad that he knows he has the support from his family & that he can freely continue doing what he’s passionate about.

but i’ll probably remember over and over again
you were there and everyone else was there

Usuyama realizing he still has a passion for badminton and that he really wants to compete again is my fav scene from Salaryman's Club so far. The support from his family and that little coupon to play badminton from his son was cute and wholesome.

While it's a bit sad to see the sunlight Beverage team bow out in the quarter finals, it was great to see Tatsuru and Mikoto were able to win against Unisics ace player and his teammate in a thrilling 2v2 match with some impressive animation.

Not just that, but Usuyama was able to find the drive to play badminton again and, thanks to the motivational spirit from his beautiful wife and their son (very wholesome scene, btw), he ask to join the badminton team, which everyone agreed with.

Their aim now is to win the SJ league overall and that'll mean facing and defeating the team from Mitsuhoshi Bank and the arrogant arse that taunted Mikoto over his incident with Azuma. However, two things will be in their way of that goal. Firstly, is Tatsuru and how he sprained his leg during his win with Mikoto, which might play a part in future episodes. Secondly is in the post-credit scene, where the boss of the company wasn't impressed with a quarter final result and is thinking of axing the team.

It looks like the drama is coming back in full force and I look forward to seeing how it'll fold out. =)

im not a badminton fan or anything like that but holy shit man the animation's great. i love it when its like playing in real time, just super fast and all. and this is gonna sound . 💀 but i like how they do the sweats ?? like .... HOW DO I EVEN EXPLAIN THIS😭😭 they look nice and even tho sometimes its unnecessary it doesnt rly look out of place ?

ahh so souta's a tsukishima typa character backstory? lol. "i dont get why we need to try so hard" usuyama's prob gonna help him out tho

this blonde tan guy from the purple team is such an ass istfg if the reason for that is "i was amazing, but mc made me just a shadow of him😕😕 im so super jealous of mc but i cant say that bc of the big fat pride i have"

Whenever I watch this show I keep thinking of wanting to watch a live badminton tournament haha. The sound of the shuttlecock hitting the racket is scary, I feel like the racket will break.

The Miyazumi/Shiratori team did amazing, but that bit on Miyazumi's leg is worrying. I find it funny that Souta thinks that there's nothing he can do against a genius when in another sports anime, his VA is playing the genius player lol. Unisic's moves were amazing?? They looked like acrobats at some parts, do real badminton players do that?? Lemme search

Shiratori shyly saying that he wants everyone to win because they are a team aww (of course the others will tease him about it).

Finally, Usuyama joins the team!! I've been waiting for this development. His child giving the play badminton ticket //tears Futami covering Meguna's eyes ahaha a cute detail. I'm excited to see him play let's gooooo

Pretty intense rallies during SunBev's matches against Unisics. Next time SunBev is bound to go past the 6th round

Tatsuru's leg injury seems to be a possible hinderance in winning the S/J League, hopefully he does listen to his team mate's concerns

Usuyama finally joins the team too, after covering more on his background and explaining why he left badminton. Its amazing when an old player reignites their passion

That one member on the committee sure doesn't like the Badary men. Can't wait to see how he tries to stop them

i'm grateful that the reason he won't be able to keep playing is a chronic leg injury and not something more serious

I see why Souta lost, he didn't form a relationship with shuttle Elizabeth like Ayato did.

Wouldn't expect Sunlight to bow out at the 6th round. So a comeback at the S/J League then.

Tatsuru and Mikoto won against Unisics, but I guess Tatsuru got an injury in his leg.

Usuyama joined the team again. New goal is S/J league, but that's not going to be easy.

If you like the animation (and the sweating 👀), I think you’d like Hanebado
