that was so relatable and it mentioned some of the things that i really enjoy because i can relate to them (loneliness), and it showed how people often forget things that helped them cope with whatever was happening to them once everything is over.. i just didn't quite understand the ending tho.. but any who it was a good ep imo.

You can see the billboard with the girl at the start of the episode, also notice how the girl have a mole on the right while the poster image has it on the opposite site, that's right, what Makino saw at the windows was the billboard's reflection, that's why the girl only appears on sunny days.
So maybe the girl on the billboard died and her ghost was glad someone noticed her. Until Makino makes a friend and stop looking at the window, making the ghost sad or angry.

So I didn't get it was the reflection at first but yeah makes sense now. She couldn't see the girl in the evening or on rainy day! And went back and noticed it in the first scene. Can't believe I missed that.

Yeah so no prob here with the billboard somehow became sentient probably a take on the Japanese Tsukumogami where something that gets used and loved long enough gets a spirit.

But here is my question!?!?! Did she die? Did the billboard "meet" her like it wanted and in doing so squashed her. Also the billboard said "it's ok let yourself be reborn" ok ominous. And when the sign was falling it was like right on top of her and everyone around looked horrified and she's just walking like nothing happened which is just too weird.

I'm thinking it killed her!

Yeah, i thought the same, she probably died. Considering the man in black suit safe from the accident. Logically, she won't make it. Maybe author want our imagination run wild to fill up the ending

Ok, listen me up, with the ending of this episode, the second one and maybe the first perhaps this season apart from the "end" theme (the three episodes until now having something to do with end something, the narrator sounds very tired and him leaving the stage at the end) perhaps this season have an extra thing on leaving the end of the episode to the spectator, is it a good ending? (The guys finish the job and the father is happy because of that, the girl didn't die by the billboard) or is a bad ending? (The guys dies and the father is happy because of that, the girl die by the billboard).
Even more, maybe the reason for the narrator to be tired is because he's tired of telling stories with a bad ending most of the time.

ohhh nice I could see that.
Yeah all these ending themes.
Even this episode the billboard said something about being reborn.
Maybe the show is ending and they're going to do something new. Or they're messing with us and they're going to change up how the show is done.

Who knows yamishibai is crazy!

I noticed in the op that the narrator had no more audience present when he tells his stories. Perhaps everyone is gone (dead) and he's the only one left?
"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

First of all, yeah this is definitely intended as Yami Shibai's final season. The title themes have all made this pretty explicitly clear. I wouldn't say it's that thematically present in the episodes themselves, at least anymore than other seasons which usually have ending in the sense of death to wrap up most stories. Next episode is titled with "Last" too, I appreciate them layering in the sense of finality over their final season in these meta ways.

The episode at first was a bit puzzling at first, and the billboard falling was initially just funny but I can appreciate the attention to detail, like showcasing the billboard in the opening moments. Oddly while last episode had many speculating a potential happier interpretation of the ending while I was clear on it being a negative, with this episode I seem to be the only one with a more positive interpretation of the episode. I don't think the billboard, assuming it was ghost possessed one which I suspect is the intended implication, was trying to meet her by crushing her to death. When I read the "It's okay, let yourself be reborn" I sort of read it as a message to Makino. You know, reborn from the socially isolated young girl who use to look up at a window for human connection, to a someone with a social outgoing person with a friend she hangs out with. I don't know, my impression was it was metaphorical rebirth, and it was her way of saying ganbare and goodbye to Makino.

Was she looking at the reflection of a cursed billboard? Not even a ghost in the apartment? Is this why she could only see it in the morning?

That's freaky.

Nice episode, the ending actually got me scared, for a moment I thought the woman jumped to her death, but it was a billboard.
The sound it made also took me by surprise, so I guess it was kind of a jump scare? but much better done than the vast majority of them, so it's acceptable.
