So something I was curious about is that Inosuke say Shi no Kiba instead of Yon ni Kiba. Idk if there’s any significance to it at all?

Shi can mean both four and death (and many other things) so maybe that's the reason why.

The kunyomi pronunciation of 四 is "yon", but the onyomi pronunciation is "shi". It could also be pronounced "Yon no Kiba" or for other Breathing Styles, "Yon no Kata", but the official pronunciation is "Shi no Kiba" and "Shi no Kata".

Tanjiro too says "Shi no kata" instead of "Yon no kata"... it's not only Inosuke...
Four is both Shi n Yon in Japanese....

Yeah, the world would be dark without Light...
but without L, the world would just be a Word...

I thought that most people don't pronounce it as shi for superstitious reasons. Do the Kuniomi and onyomi pronunciations have something to do with that?

Doesn't Tanjiro call his fourth form 'Shi no Kata' too? I assumed that's just the commonly used pronounciation for 'four'.

The onyomi are typically used when counting, so the forms would use shi (4) and shichi (7).

Yes we hear tanjiro say Shi no kata in the yuukaku hen trailer which I misheard as Ichi (1).
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

So I take it the onyomi pronunciation is just less commonly used for no particular reason since I’ve rarely heard it and it wouldn’t be strange to a native JP speaker to hear someone saying shi instead of yon.

There’s a shit ton of rules and which one you use will change depending on what you’re talking about. For just normal counting like 1-10 it’s standard to use shi, it’s more fluent but there will definitely be people who use the kunyomi instead. But counting in general vs. counting a certain thing is different. Like if you are counting people, you’d use yon (yonnin - 四人) but counting months uses shi (shigatsu - 四月). It just depends on what you’re talking about.
