How is this movie so good?

Like, I know that generally Ufotable productions are high quality, but this was on another level. If someone had told me this was a new upcoming anime, in 2022, I'd believe them, but this came out literally 14 years ago. The story and the voice acting are also so real, and really gets you prepared as an observer for the series. That's what I felt watching this movie, as an observer, and Imo, this should not be lower than Shield hero. It's on the level of AOT, and at least on the level of HF3.

Good animators have always been around and 3D backgrounds interracting with 2d characters have existed for 35 years now.

It's ufotable's unique style and action direction that make it impressive. Age is irrelevant in this case.

It's a fairly decent movie, but it's nothing that special. The movie series definitely picks up later with 5th and 7th movie, but the first one is just alright.

I dropped it after 2 episode.
Does not suit my taste.
But has awesome animation and music no doubt about it.
I think it's a waste of such good animation on that series.

For an older anime, this had extremely beautiful animation and visuals nd the camera movements were insane so yeah, you cant expect anything else from ufotable.

If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

Well it's ufotable....
anyway glad you liked it mate, it's also my fav anime of all time. The story line is great, the casts, the musics, and most importantly our main protagonist Ryougi shiki is one of the most complex and compelling character with one of the most beautiful character journey of all time, second to kaneki manga.

Well, it’s Ufotable so “Unlimited Budget Works” but besides that, KnK is a very well written story and it also belongs to the Nasuverse & TypeMoon universe so hence its massive popularity.
For what is worth, it deserves the praise since it’s a fantastic series all around and Movie 7 being pretty close to a masterpiece after all the buildup.

Honestly, it's imo, one of the best introductions to a series. It gets a lot of interesting ideas, about flying vs falling, a crime mystery, and a lot of other ideas that you want to see play out.

That is a great introduction and a great hook in the series.

I agree kara no kyoukai is underrated and amazing. Just wait for movies 5 and 7. thats the best part in the series. before you watch any more of movies, just know the first few are meant to be somewhat confusing w/ the timeline as the timeline goes 2>4>3>1>5>6>7 though its meant to be watched from 1 - 8 in release order.

I agree that it's good, it really got me interested for the rest of the series for sure.

I just completed first movie and it was decent at max.
Probably a 6/10.
Animation and soundtracks are phenomenal tho.
