Nobody in the show ever eats marshmallows or strawberries. The only reference to either food is in the opening theme song and some art on the dvd depicts Ana eating a strawberry.

When i first read the title, i always assumed it'd be some sort of baking show until i watched it.
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

It’s just meant to be cute ig it has nothing to do with the actual show. Strawberries and Marshmallows are cute like the characters?? Idk... ask the original creator ig cuz the manga is still being published.

While the manga-ka was coming up with the story, Tamio Okuda's song, "Mashimaro", just came out at the time. And since he couldn't just use "Mashimaro", he added ichigo to the title, hence "Ichigo Mashimaro" (Strawberry Marshmallow).

According to the manga-ka, both ichigo and mashimaro have no particular meaning.
