What keeps you from giving this a 10/10 score? I'm just curious.

It was just.. slow. The scenes that could have been banging and intense were interrupted by a geology lesson or by some other scientific fact that didn't really matter. The emphasis was much more on things like politics, rather than fighting and plot development, hence it was far from ideal in my opinion.

I gave it 9/10. I think they improved the animation a whole lot this time. The only reason I didn't give it 10 because in a few scenes I felt that they were rushing it, like not giving the Scene enough screen time for the viewer to completely comprehend it. For instance, in the last episode, when Strydum asks Yujiro whether he could defeat T-rex, "Yujiros smiling scene" was done was a bit too fast in my opinion(while reading the manga you're able to totally grasp the way yujiro felt at that moment). I think the anime somewhat rushed it in a few moments. Other that that, I enjoyed it thoroughly. After all Baki is my favorite franchise.

The fights were just boring and dragged on because of the narratore explaining everything in the middle of a fight.

Should've been a movie and overall could've been done better

It being a 6 stopped me from giving it a 10, but it’s entertaining enough for me to keep watching if and when another season drops on Netflix.

Because it's not a 'masterpiece' in any sense of the word. Giving this lackluster season a perfect score is an insult to actual quality shows. It's actually an insult to the two previous seasons, which albeit not perfect were immensely more entertaining than this.

It alwas had been a 8/10 for me - since the old seasons. (Except the 2 OVA episodes which weren't really fun.)

Never really god into JoJo. Had already too much seasons and feld too colorful and "fancy" with the char style/design.

Really like Baki for the brutal action and sometimes comedy and I like the char design. This season was not much different. Yeah it mainly had only 1 setting (the prison). And I preferred Doppo and Shibukawa Gouki - that I liked to see appear again and again in the old seasons.

But Oliva - and his VA - pretty nice. Guevaru also was cool. And Mouth. And the style of directing/narration in some episodes: The last ones with the witnesses that explained the fight.

Typical Baki season it seems. Just with starting to do different settings than just only Japan and tournaments.

10/10 is the max rating you can give. Not something you just give to half the shows you watch. I don't subsrcibe to the mentality of starting my scale at 7/10 when something is super bad. I gave it 8 because it's a very good series imo. I only give 10s to anime I think are the best out of the ones I watched.

Not much gets done. I mean s1 was able to do a lot.
The 2nd season was just a TOURNAMENT ARK which is fine, but that's all it was. And s3, "let's go see what Oliva is up to, that seems like a good way to spend our time".
Even though there were three things they could have done in stead.
First Baki what about the prisoners from s1 that were preparing themselves for something. Second Baki how is your relationship with your girlfriend after almost killing Mohammad Alai Jr.
Three Why did we get no backstory for Oliva in his youth, now would have been the perfect opportunity.

So yeah that's why my score is for s3 is low.

Glad we share the same opinion bout this. The fact that the score is higher than the previous season is mindblowing.

A lot of slideshow animations, dragged out fighting and many other inconsistencies. Although it is pretty entertaining on the surface level

I haven't finished it yet, I just didn't like it very much until now that they turned Che Guevara into a good person.

I like Itagaki's digression, but the new characters presented here are uninteresting and boring, and this precisely in the saga that has more "history", the feeling that gave me is that instead of inventing new characters, the author should have given more focus to the characters already presented previously. Besides the extremely static animation even for Baki's standard. And lastly Itagaki's political implication.
I feel that this saga was made only because Itagaki was angry with Bush, the Baki Vs Oliva fight seems to have been left aside the whole season.
Only the beginning of the season was interesting.
But the only problem really with the anime is the static animation. This is by far the worst season of Baki for me, both in anime and manga.

That's what bothered me too
