In real life, is it really frowned upon for manga artists to get ideas from people online?

I have reached the part where a fan of the main duo's becomes a mangaka himself and gets ideas from people on the internet. He does trash talk his editor online, but is there really anything wrong with his way of getting ideas?

If you don’t give credit to the person who gave you ideas, it counts as plagiarism…I think

It’s not wrong, and in this case giving credit wasn’t needed because the people helping him agreed to remain anonymous.

But, it is a bad way of writing anything not just manga. The way he was doing it, it was just a bunch of people yelling out ideas as they went along. There was no actual outline or plan as to where the story was going. This will usually just cause the plot to become an incomprehensible mess, as it did in the series.

But it’s definitely not wrong or illegal or anything like that. Mangakas and authors in general are constantly using other works for inspiration or even copying bits and pieces here and there, this is the same thing really.

It is not a big deal if the main ideas are yours and the others help. The main problem is that he literally did nothing and the others made all the job he did not even care about his story
