I just noticed that only season 2 of slime says sourse- light novel, and all other season says source- manga.

So, is it adapted from manga or light novel?
I am quite confused🀔🀔

The original story is a Web novel. The LN story is a little different from the WN one. And the manga is the adaptation of the LN story. So, anime=manga=Light novel, hence, anime=Light novel.

Season 1 much more closely follows the manga story line. The Light Novel did not handle Shizu well at all. Season 2 follows the light novels more faithfully

Listen up m8
The light novel is the source for manga and anime
Manga is the source of anime
If you read the former you wont be satisfied with the latter in this 3way deadlock

because the pace adaptation of manga is slow. Manga is published 1 chapter a month and the recent chapters narrated the story that ends with where the season 2 just ended
so during anime production, which happens months before airing, the story was not available in manga. So they took the LN as the source and worked on the anime. But whatever the source may be. There won't be major changes in the story. so it doesnt matter

Manga. The official source for the Anime is the Manga, period. The "original story" is credited to the Manga version both in the credits of the Anime episodes, as well as on the official site of the Anime.
The fact that the LN is used as a complementary source to expand what the Anime can cover, as well as to fulfill certain deadlines for early production for which the manga wouldn't make it in time, are completely irrelevant. The official stance is: Source Material: Manga.

Wrong, see above. The manga is the official source.

The Web Novel is not just "a little different." What's actually a little different is the LN, manga, and anime compared to one another. As for the Web Novel? It's an entirely different story with some superficial similarities and some similar key-scenes but that's all. It's completely different.

I was very confused myself as to why that was as well, but that seems to be answered here. It's an odd occurrence tho.

"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Japanese: 転生したらスラむムだった件, Hepburn: Tensei Shitara Suraimu Datta Ken) also known as TenSura (転スラ) or Slime Isekai is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Fuse [ja]" - source Wikipedia.
"It was serialized online between 2013 and 2016 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was acquired by Micro Magazine, which published the first light novel volume in 2014. Seventeen volumes have been released as of March 2021. The light novel has been licensed in North America by Yen Press, who published the first volume in December 2017. It has received a manga adaptation published by Kodansha"
"Fuse originally serialized the series as a web novel on the user-generated content site Shōsetsuka ni Narō between February 20, 2013 and January 1, 2016.[1][4] The series was acquired for print publication by Micro Magazine, who published the "first light novel", with illustrations by Mitz Vah, under their GC Novels in May 2014.[1][5] On April 15, 2017, English publisher Yen Press announced during their panel at Sakura-Con that they had licensed the series for release in North America.[6]"
"Taiki Kawakami launched a manga adaptation in Kodansha's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Sirius on March 26, 2015"
Manga is an adaptation of the LN, and anime is following the LN story. So, the source material is the LN.
