You're not alone OP. This half of the anime was extremely disappointing and almost felt like a waste of time that had no impact on the audience...

Tbh, I wanted more political intrigue at Walpurgis. Way too much lighthearted goofiness took up the time that could have been spent on maybe a conversation between Rimuru and Valentine about Hinata’s assassination attempt and the person who instigated her. Or maybe there could be more heightened tensions between any number of the attendees. There’s a lot of history with Veldora that could cause some bad blood b/w Rimuru and the others. The way they resolved the thing with Milim was also very easygoing and lighthearted. There could be any number of more interesting ways to handle it.

Whatever though, ya know. It’s still entertaining I guess. Also, kinda confused how Laplace is suddenly strong when he was running before. Idk, maybe it will be explained in the movie that comes out NEXT YEAR. Jeez man. I’m so out of the loop with some of these things.

Laplace was always strong, he's the strongest of the clowns. But he's a scout and prefers fleeing over fighting. Roy's taunting made him stay and fight.
Vampires are weakened when it's the full moon.

Gotcha, appreciate the explanation. I suppose the thing with Laplace can be inferred from the scene, but idk about the vampire weakness.

It's not the show that disappoints, but your expectations did.

Did the show not setup those expectations though? The OP specifically focuses on hyping up Walpurgis. The story has also setup all these intriguing dynamics between the characters that are to meet at Walpurgis. It gives you a sense of "OMG, what will happen," only for it to be "Oh, of course this is what happens." I'll give you this, it is the way the story has gone so far, so I can't say it isn't in line with what it has been in the past. It is still the same old happy-go-lucky style in a serious fantasy setting that slime is known for.

Idk though, it just did not at all feel like an anticlimax is what the show was setting up for at Walpurgis. The only hints of that were the hints that Milim wasn't actually being controlled, but they were easy to dismiss with the destruction of Eurazania, which they wrap up in the most lighthearted way possible lol. I was wanting people to be pissed at one another over that ... b/c of course they should!

The interesting dynamics are right there. And the story just bypasses them in favor of its lighthearted tradition of naming things XD. I mean it is entertaining; I won't say it isn't, but couldn't you say that it could have most certainly been better if it actually explored some of the dynamics it setup.

And tbh, I would have also liked more intrigue in the fighting. Rimuru basically only used Beelzebub the whole time, which was just an OP version of Gluttony. Cool, you're the same but more OP. Show me some of those new abilities man! Or maybe a nice combination of skills like in the battle with Orc Disaster. An idea I had was for Rimuru to force Clayman in place with a skill like Universal thread or something and then trap him within Unlimited Imprisonment, which could maybe make Clayman a magicule battery for Rimuru kind of like how Veldora was for the caves. Maybe that isn't feasible or practical for some reason that I don't know of, but it's so much more creative and interesting, like how Meggido was for annihilating the army of Falmuth. Btw, that idea is based on some stuff I heard from LN readers in the forums; it isn't entirely original.

many characters that are faking their power in slime

for instances: rimuru and veldora. rimuru has been hiding his true power even since like the first time he met the unevolved goblins back in season 1, veldora then also follows his example and it works, even velzard (also a true dragon) his big sis assumes he's weakened a lot

demon lord guy has been hiding his true power too,

rimuru asked raphael to analyze and asses him and she said that guy is only as strong as karion...
if it wasnt for the intel from ramiris, "guy is the strongest and the oldest demon lord"
rimuru mightve completely gotten bamboozled

Dang they just completely changed that in the anime. Rimuru instantly noticed Guy was next level in the show.

Also, I did notice that when Velzard was trying to sense Veldora. I wasn't entirely certain about it though b/c Veldora just blew up his Aura at one point, so I was like "Well, wouldn't she sense that?" But idk, maybe she has to use a skill that isn't autonomous to sense Veldora.

rimuru actually asked raphael to analyze and asses dino, the sleepy guy and leon as well but...

unfortunately, she couldnt see anything...
404 not found /no data lol. leon and dino cannot be read

thats the reason why when rimuru tried to analyze and assess milim and found nothing,
he instantly assumed that clayman used powerful mindhax magic on her

mind = blown

its inevitable misunderstanding...

raphael was already quite irritated cuz her failure to expose leon and dino power
and rimuru didnt expect much from her either...

Yeah, I felt the second half was pretty slow and disappointing.. and animation looked a little worse too. But then again it is a 'part 2', so I am judging S2 as a whole.. and overall I think I enjoyed it. Probably just felt disappointing to me because it was broken up and felt very short and I really wanted more. I hope the new movie continues the story rather than go into a filler/side story.

I mean they stuck fairly close to source material so there wasn't really much to be done.

There was also never going to be a great battle between Rimuru and Clayman because they're in completely different power realms.

This! But honestly having read it all, I just want the next four seasons immediately because it’s taking a long time to not get to the best bits IMO 😂

I love Tensura. So getting to watch it in anime form is great. I love the web novel, light novel, and manga. I was pretty disappointed that they didnt realise great stories dont me great tv. World building is important but we couldve wotnessed some epic shit if the pacing was a little better. They did stick to source material but some funnier moments were missing. I still hope it gets another season.

Honestly it is disappointing. You see when first season came out it was really good mainly because the story could carry out it's job while giving comedy too us but in this second season honesty I'm expecting something more serious and much more dark while still giving the vibe that 1st season has but instead I have tons of misplaced joke and comedy scene like when rimuru massacre falmus army or walpurgis taken place it supposedly serious arc and carry a darker vibe compared to other arc but we have something that entirely different. How do I say it, that's just too much comedy going on and the background music didn't even bring any dark vibe and more like cheerful kid music instead

Considering the payoff we got from the first part of this season with the massacre compared to the mundane fight sequences we got for the final episode. This is very disappointing. I was waiting for when they dump the budget into the fight vs Clayman and expect some sakuga after all the meetings and politicals, but we ended up getting neither. It was just a mediocre fight scene... Or am I just being too optimistic and hopeful?
lol this is supposed to be a show full of meetings and dialouges and the epic fights aren't even shown so far because Rimuru is op

No you are completely right. Disappointment is legitimate. I wished that at least Guy and Leon had sex, if they had, this 2nd part could have been salvaged.
