| it is a kind of CGDCT or cute girl playing sports expansion. We got a lot of this kind of anime and now it's time for the ice hockey. Who knows what will be the next sport we will get. To be fair, there *is* a hockey manga that exists called Supinamarada! written by Satoro Noda (who wrote Golden Kamuy:o :o :o ) Who can say if that'll ever get an adaptation. |

| Obviously we have to watch this and point out every minute detail they get wrong about hockey. I was wondering how they would make a sport that has a cuteness level similar to rugby or boxing, cute. It seems they solve this by throwing in idol dancing at the end of the game. Curling would be a much more appropriate Canadian sport to make an anime about. Japan is already quite good at curling. But I was surprised to find out just now on wikipedia that Japan is not terrible at women's hockey. In this year's world championships they came second in their group, beating Denmark, Hungary, and Germany.... before losing 10-2 to the US. But in the previous world championships they beat Sweden 3-2. |

| I've been living in Canada for a few years now and I couldn't care less about this show, although admittedly while I like watching hockey games here, I follow the Raptors and the NBA more than the NHL. This show doesn't really capture that entertainment, chaos and excitement that I get when following the NHL from time to time. Then again, I definitely am overthinking this, this show just feels bland and uninspired with all of its elements beyond just having a different sport for anime to follow. P.S: Probably wish for a Maritimes team to support to actually get into the NHL properly since I've been here in Nova Scotia for 3 and a half years now, but that ain't ever happening lol. Maybe if I ever move to Toronto or Vancouver, things might change. |
