Funimation is Using the Less Censored Version for the English Dub

Something that has been noted by viewers in the Episode 1 discussion post on r/animedubs was the fact that Funimation is using the less censored version for the dub. Crunchyroll had previously announced after the original simulcast ended that they would be releasing this same less censored version, titled as the "Double Summon Version." The first 3 episodes were released all at once and the rest will come out weekly on Crunchyroll.

Where I'm going with this is that those who waited for the dub got an unexpected treat.

Even more "Cultured" version you mean...

There didn't seem to be much censoring on the original release.

That's actually pretty normal, the dub of highschool dxd is uncensored but the broadcast sub is censored.

It's to do with effentcy, the simulcast sub simply copies the broadcast in Japan which is obviously censored but most dubs have a gap and can use the uncensored blu-ray footage👍.
