Is the studio trying to test the waters if a full episode series is still viable?
Trying to raise funds?

To promote season 2 and spread hype about the fact that it's coming soon, I guess. It's the ideal way to keep the hype up after 4 years.

The synopsis, "Commemoration mini-anime series released on Kyoani YouTube Channel ahead of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S.", should really tell you all you need to know.

Thats why I love KyoAni. No matter the series, no matter how small the details, they always put the maximum amount of effort into the animation. No other one minute short has animation like that
