I watched in both and I prefer Dub. Almost every dubbed voice actor is at least a 8/19 performance while there are several 10/10 as well. I’d recommend dub.

I have no problem with dubs but i always watch with sub, so im used to it so i prefer sub over dub.

Both solid but like usual, sub is better. If you aren’t used to sub that much, you won’t lose anything with the dub.

I watched it in dub as i find I can concentrate more on what’s going on than trying to read along then look, I do watch sub and others I prefer in sub then dub but I enjoyed the voice acting for dub for this movie.

I never watched subbed, but the dub was amazing (especially compared to normal dubs)

Actually i love dub more than sub cuz I understand it more even tho i don't have a problem with sub. When i watched a silent voice it was on youtube so it was bad and maybe ill watch it again someday 😄

I have watched it in both and I cried I lot more with it in Sub. Both versions are powerful though.

I think every slice of life type anime should and only be watched in sub.

I watched the sub initially and decided to do the dub recently when I rewatched with my mom. There was some sort of cringey moments to me, as someone who is....sensitive to dubs. It’s watchable and most people won’t notice or care either way but I preferred the sub for this movie.

I watched it first in sub. And think it is better. The Dub is very good as well if you prefer dubs then it’s still great dubbed.

Sub for life. They always do a better job, imo. I am so used to subs that it's hard for me to watch anything dubbed longer.

Sub is mostly better but Its one of those Rare cases where i would say go with the dub. Shouko voice actor in dub is actually Deaf! I mean this alone is more then enough to show that the dub is high quality and was done with care unlike the majority. The voice actors in dub did an amzing job as well imo

I usually prefer dubbed over sub, but I watched this is in Sub and completely regret doing so.

As someone who has watched a lot of anime, my brain automatically turns towards the sub over the dub. For some reason, us sub watchers prefer a foreign language over our own, even if the dub is really good. I went to this forum to see if the dub was watchable since I wanted my mom to see the movie. My mom doesn’t watch anime and wanted to see the dub. My mom really enjoyed the dubbed movie and doesn’t regret watching it at all.
Another example I have is a friend that watches even more anime than I do, but used to watch dub and even watched A Silent Voice in the dub originally. He went back to it and actually told me the dub sounded better (especially Nishimiya’s VA who is in fact deaf).
TL;DR
The dub is incredibly well done and if you want a parent, someone who doesn’t watch anime, or just doesn’t like subtitles to see it, you can easily tell them to watch the dub

I preferred the dub VA's over the sub VA's by a small margin, either one is fine but I would definitely recommend the dub it's that good.

I still prefer subbed, and I used to hate watching dubbed animes, but recently I've been more accepting of it.
