I have no prior knowledge to the show/manga whatsoever, all I have heard that it's created by the same creator of Your Lie In April, Arakawa Naoshi. Is there any sad elements or is it just some female football anime with drama?

First impressions of the art style though, it's real beautiful. Judging from the title, it seems sad because of the whole "Farewell, Cramer." It sounds like somebody has died or something, but that just might be me looking too deep into the title lol.

No, it's not sad. No one's sick or dying. It's just a typical sports series.

And it's really good, so check it out. The manga is available on Crunchyroll.

It's a sports manga, so it's full of hot-headed sport manga moments rather than drama or sad stuff.

The prequel manga, which is gonna be adapted into a movie, does have some drama. It's about a girl (Nosomi Onda) in middle school who wants to play football but the only team her school has is a boys team. She wants to play no matter what but they see her as weak for being a girl. So there's drama revolving around that.

The main series, which is gonna be adapted into a TV anime, is about the same girl but now in high-school. Her new school does have a girls football team so she joins them and things start from there. This manga is much more of a classical sports manga than the prequel. It's all about training and competing in tournaments and so on.

If this anime will be sad and the story will be practically repeated, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso would be one of the most offensive things I've experienced in my life...

But I don't think Naoshi Arakawa is a cynical like Jun Maeda...

Nothing like Your Lie in April in terms of emotions or twists. Only real similarity is the comedy. This manga is much more focused on the actual football itself and the emotions put to competing and winning, and showing the beauty of women's football too to go along with that.

Don't expect anything melodramatic, but from my personal perspective, don't expect any strong sense of pathos in general, either.

The manga was so boring to me that I don't really recall anything particularly emotional or evocative. If it's the emotions bent on winning and competing, then sure, but I found it underwhelming and not amounting to much weight considering how short the manga was and how the story practically starts and ends stuck more or less at the same place. The comedy is quite similar to Your Lie in April, and unfortunately that was a main aspect I despised so much about said series. I can get that it's perhaps valiantly depicting the appeal of women playing soccer at the men's level, but again, it lacks the weight and drive that would make me appraise it.

Crunchyroll Manga is available on the website. They also have a Crunchyroll Manga mobile app.

https://www.crunchyroll.com/comics/manga/farewell-my-dear-cramer/volumes

Unfortunately, they only have Chapters 16-55 right now. The first 15 chapters are missing.

the "sad" thing is the quality of the animation.

The anime story is not sad. The quality of the anime, however, is very sad. This anime looks like shit. The designs are ugly, the animation is bad.
